One of my favourite derby wins. Jack scores the winner, after being assaulted by a player, 'fan' and a steward, Cro-Magnon misses 2 great chances and they show the world what absolute scum they are. 14 league games bitches.

Can we stop putting fan in inverted commas. He was in the ground when you had to have the correct privileges to get a ticket and he had their top on. He was a fan.

Fans are the numerous heathens that are condemning his actions.

I think a steward had a go at Jack. Saw him get arrested/taken out.

Great win all things considered. Hourihane's shot off the bar would have put us deservedly 2-0 up. Mings was superb, McGinn brilliant with ball when he came in, Grealish a Villa hero forever after today. Character, the kid has it in spades.

Thought we collapsed last five or ten minutes. Gardner missing two sitters, seemed to me that El Ghazi bottled out of tracking him for the header. Green and Bjarnsson were woeful they came in. But fuck it, none of it matters now.

Green was woeful?  Thought he did pretty well.

Had one good run, but his touch was really poor giving the ball away a lot. For a kid with his physique he should be far more physically dominating too

Green and BB played for a fraction of the game and I thought did nothing wrong. Neither great or bad. Glenn Whelan on the other hand...good grief. Never should anyone suggest him over McGinn. And Adomah just looks finished.

That is the most resilient performance I've ever seen from us in a local derby.  I wouldn't have blamed Smith for taking them off the pitch after what happened, but to come out of it with three points and a clean sheet, I've never been prouder of the Villa.

Hope they get a (further) points reduction to the one the EFL already have lined up and they spend the next two months scrapping for survival, only to go down on the final day.  Forcing them to play behind closed doors is pointless as the place is always fucking empty anyway.  I'd be glad to see that place napalmed, preferably on a match day with all 10k of the c***s locked in.

Try taking the moral victory today, you fucking pondlife c***s.

Reminded me very much of the 0-1 under MON in 09/10 (think that was our last win there before today).

Dunne and Collins on their debut were brick walls in the last ten minutes.

Mings seems to be of that same ilk, getting him full time has to be top priority this summer.

Nobody gets less than an eight after that, horrible place horrible club. Terrible conditions, players attacked. Just get on the coach lads and come home.

Great to get the win, if not a great performance.  Thought Mings and Hause dealt with the physical threat well all game and thought we did look like we could create chances and did at times.  Thought McGinn did really well when he came on.

Horrible game but we can be proud of our club today.
The way our players reacted to the first and second assault on Jack.
The performance of Ming’s who was immense.
To come away from that hell hole with a victory.

What made the 'incident' even worse was all those morons behind the goal cheering the chav. At least everyone watching on TV got to witness what a complete sewer of a club they are. Hope they get the book thrown at them.

Thought we looked much better when SJM came on. Mings the Magnificent and Hause did well. Great karma for Jack to get the only goal.

Meanwhile, in a custody suite, somewhere in Birmingham, a Police Officer open the hatch to a cell door and tells the prisoner, ‘by the way dickhead, Jack Grealish has just scored the winner for Aston Villa’.  Poetic justice.

Whelan was shocking but the alternative is Hourihane.
