The ref should have taken the players off as soon as that happened.

It just seems a bit surreal that the game seems to have carried on without any sort of acknowledgement that the incident took place.

You know I have watched the first half, and after the Grealish incident I really don't care about the result. Utterly disgraceful that any player can be punched from behind by a fan to cheers of the opposition fans. Awful scenes.

I switched it off....kicked from the outset, attacked....i simply couldn't care less about this game now.....

And you have to wonde now how Grealish feels now. In his head is he concerned about something similar happening again? Or the other players for that matter. It’s affected his game and the other players. I wouldn’t have blamed Smith for taking them off.

Agree with everyone who says they don't care about the result now - me neither, it's really killed the enjoyment I had for it.

I can't stop thinking what if he'd had a little blade in his hand?! If he was mad enough to do that who's to say what else might have crossed his mind.

They've brought shame on English football today

The sooner we go back to hardly ever playing this game the better.
Growing up in the 90s I remember a league cup tie and Mcgraths testimonial and that's about it.

I'd hook Jack off for his own protection and to make a point. Nothing changes does it...Enckleman all over again, only it went one step further this time...

I'd have taken the players off the pitch there and then.

Yep, Villa should be awarded the game and the scum should be relegated by default, this has to be viewed as one of the most serious offences that can occur at a sporting event, poor Jack didn't even see it coming ffs.

They'll probably have to play some games at reduced capacity. Trouble is, no-one would notice

Look at the numbers of their fans who are applauding that twat like they had scored...says it all.

Massive points deduction coming up and ground closure.
