Aston Villa v Derby County - Match Thread
« on: March 02, 2019, 02:06:57 PM »
Why on earth add to the pressure on Jack by making him captain ?

My only answer is that it’s to let him lead out his club a few times before he leaves in the summer.

I think it’s a master stroke , to try and get him some protection from the referee .
Good plan for me

Best side on paper we have picked for some time. 2-0, long overdue win.

Disappointed Ramsey hasn’t made the bench.

Good to see Jack back. Hoping he lifts the entire team and the extra space the other players are given can be exploited.

Good to see Jack start and like the fact he's captain.  Back to 4-3-3 it seems today, which I suppose suits a team with Grealish in better then 4-4-2.  We really need Adomah and El Ghazi to start being a lot more consistent.  Still, win today, then next week we'll hopefully have McGinn back in the same side with Grealish.

It sounds like you are reading way too much into a fairly obvious decision. No Hutton, no Chester = Grealish captain.

Sorry chaps. Just waking up after getting in at 3am. And frankly a change is good. My recent record is appalling.

I think it’s great he’s captain. It’s not pressure. It’s an honour and he’ll love it.

If we win today T.V, i'll put forward the notion for you to be banned from starting match threads.

I'm also happy Jacks Captain

that's probably the first out of the box brave thing Smiths done since he's been here
I'd like to see him taking more chances and doing unpredictable things

I’ll second that motion

Off course it would be just like Mr Sox to come in like some glory hunting bastard and do the match thread when we win.

“Where were you when we were shit?”

El Gazhi needs to raise his game, today, probably our most gifted player after Jack, but apart from the 2nd half last week, has been well below par since mid December.
