He’s off to fix a leaking tap.

if it really is true that certain players were told they were going to be surplus to requirements in January then it was the most staggeringly inept piece of man management ever.

A CEO stating on national radio that promotion this season wasn't a necessity doesn't set the aspirational bar very high.  I wonder if that has been a factor in altering the winning mindset inside the club.

Since we came down everything has been short term thinking to the point we nearly went broke,. So I don't agree with that at all. He said that we needed to build properly so in that context the pressure wasn't on to go up this season. It's very, very different to waving a white flag regarding our ambition.

We're all over them, which can only mean one thing. A Stoke winner in added time.

Wow, we just turned into a Smith team, short passes and some movement off the ball.

Considering the mess we were in a few months earlier i'm not sure how people expected him to answer the question he was asked.

From the day MON left I can't actually recall a 'winning mindset' at the club. I also think the often trotted out quote regarding promotion not being a necessity has been mistaken for a lack of ambition whereas I think the comment was made to calm any fears of financial problems if we don't go up this year. So far the powers that be have stopped us from going bust, given the manager they inherited a reasonable shot, appointed the guy so many fans wanted and are now giving him a reasonable shot. Cherry picking certain quotes to back up our current frustration regarding results is unfair in my opinion.

It was a question and answer about the finances but some will run with it in the direction that suits them.
