Cheer Up
« on: February 19, 2019, 12:06:00 PM »
My heart goes out to all the Villa supporters who go home and away, right now. Also to the expats around the globe, suffering from afar.

Always someone more worse off than yourself though. I was chatting at work yesterday to a Sunderland supporter. Had a bit of a whinge about Villa, then asked about the mackems. It had completely passed me by that they dropped straight to the 3rd div.

No real point to this post other than to say, things are shit, but they could be worse. The more quick-witted (everyone but me!) will no doubt be tutting what’s news with that?

Pretty scary that could happen to the likes of Sunderland.

Still not sure where I’m going with this ramble, but thanks for reading (not Reading) anyway.

I detest this term. I am an immigrant, an economic migrant. Never an 'expat'! Fuck that!

You have my full support in this. Sadly my influence isn't what it ought to be.

I referenced Sunderland yesterday when talking to someone about how it could be worse. Another club with a big following who have recently come out of the Prem. We need to start moving in the right direction now though (probably this Summer really before we can).

Sorry to upset everyone with the expat term. Really not sure why it’s deemed to be offensive?

Villa are still shit, so are sunderland

Wotcha Rob!

When I lived in France and China I always felt expats were sent overseas by their companies and generally had generous help with their living conditions (apartment, school fees, driver etc). To me there was a distinction between them and people who just decided to move abroad independently.

Hope Bris-Vegas is treating you well mate.
