Congratulations Tyrone, and much deserved! X

An image of him holding up the FA Cup has just flickered in my mind

I really should know better by now!

Not at all. This year is definitely our year.*

*Possibly might not be, again.

I can’t think of a more fitting captain for our amazing club.

I’d say “ do us proud “ Ty, but I know you will anyway

Didn't I read, presumably on here, that he didn't want to be captain?
I think someone wondered if that might be the case, but with no real basis.

From Ty today...

"We didn’t start the first game of the season anywhere near where we wanted to, but the result doesn’t overshadow my overwhelming feeling of pride at being made captain of this great football club.

Ever since I arrived I’ve been made to feel part of the club by everyone connected to it. You fans have treated me like one of your own. The manager has placed a lot of faith in me by signing me on loan & now entrusting me with the armband. So for that, I’m extremely thankful.

I have tried to embody the strong principles and values that have run through long before me, and will continue long after me. I’ve no doubt we will continue to make you fans proud, as footballers but also as role models."

Surely it's got to be Curcic, Yorke, or Bozzie on vice?

Captain tweets after every game? Cool!  Just don't deflect own goals or drop clangers, Ty, good lad.

I don't want to come across like those needy, entitled Scab 6 fans so I'm content to wait till 2024 and win it during our 150th anniversary year.

Good man Ty. Now make sure the level of performance shown in the first half on Saturday never happens again under your watch.

Needs to up his game as well. Got beaten in the air too often. Only guy who did a decent job in the back 4 on Saturday was Konsa

Yep, thought he was fairly poor overall. Far too casual for their second when he stuck out his boot, and resorted to aimless long punts out of defence much too often.

Of all and every central defender on the premier league to have played 5 or more games last season 48% of  Tyrone Mings passes were made forward.
That was the joint highest amount of passes forward along with James Tarks of Burnley.

Not back not sideways. But forwards.
That is higher than any other defender other than Burnley James Tarkowski.
The link here is Dean Smith. He's taught both of them to
play majority of the ball when they have it to pass the ball forward

Impressive.

It depends on what you class as a "pass" I guess.

When it's completed! So therefor it's a pass.
And therefore 48% of Mings passes last season were forward.
So all the other defenders were passing back or sideways at a higher rate than Mings.
I'm not talking about accuracy or amount just direction pass was made and completed .
