So just to be clear when this game closes with the almost inevitable draw tomorrow Bears wil lneed 1 bonus point from 2 matches to be safe, I think we can call that in the bag then.

Or for Notts to take fewer than maximum points in either of their remaining games.

I think that’s the Bears safe for another season then.

Good stuff, Bears. Been a very tough season but I think it would have been very harsh if we had gone down, given the number of unavailable players we have had.

Elsewhere, Lancashire are the first team promoted.

bowled them with a lead of 193 and enforced the follow-on, good decision, takes a defeat off the table and gives us a chance to push for the win ourselves.

Essex 3-1 early in their 2nd innings.

May as well call it a day now, we've less chance of winning this than England have of removing Smith for less than a hundred.

Not sure we're that bothered either, if we could've got a couple of cheap wickets we'd have gone for it but a draw suits us fine anyway.

Very professional performance in this match, left nothing to chance and batted out slowly and sensibly to take the defeat out of the equation.

Well done you Bears!! These youngsters are talented and have grown up quickly this season through so many injuries. It will be in next Summer!

Hallelujah-a half decent batting performance is a shock :-)

Have to say that seeing the team who are incapable of developing their own players & just pick off others top talent getting relegated is very amusing.
