Fabulous recovery from the Bears. I can’t see them going down this season, which is an achievement considering the squad is in a state of transience. The fact that only one is going down this year is a big advantage, any other season with two going down and we’d be looking nervously over our shoulders.

Hose and Hain are playing for the Lions against Australia A so will miss the Essex game. Bell played for the seconds this week so hopefully he will come in against Essex. Our batting will be a bit threadbare without him.

A couple of decent players but I am beginning to think this is as bad a Worcestershire side that I've seen. They live for one day stuff.

The batting has been largely appalling in 4 day game since Rutherford exited.

Bowlers have generally done pretty well but it must be dispiriting to see the abject batting displays giving no back up.

Should have definitely gone to the loan market for an opener weeks ago because Dolly was a walking wicket now Dell is following suit.

I can see several counties taking a similar approach as the T20 Blast is a money maker. Not many counties make a profit out of red ball cricket so it's hardly surprising that they chase the white ball cash.

Wasn't Dell supposed to be a decent player, or am I thinking of Fell?  other than the odd performance from an individual here and there, the batting has been disgraceful.

Bears going along quite nicely with Essex 171-6. Will Rhodes has figures of 6-4-6-4.  Like a tennis score!

Bears lost today at Essex. No big surprise there. What decent batsmen we've got (Sibley/Hain) were on England Lions duty! Bell still out?? Will he ever play this season?.
Fortunately Notts are shite and they lost again, so we should avoid being bottom and relegated.

The Bears have signed Fidel Edwards on loan for the Blast. He was a wonderful bowler when he was younger so hopefully at aged 37 he will bring guile and variety.

In other news the Pears v Bears match at New Road was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

I assume Ashton Agar is still coming? Olly Stone called up by England against Ireland along with Woakes isn't good for us. Woakes always seems to miss games for the Bears when there's a window for him to be available!

Didn't see any cricket yesterday, but New Road was a nice ground.

Comfortable win for the Bears in the Blast today, helps when your opening bowler takes three wickets in his first over.
