You're not going to win a lot of games with Hutton and Whelen starting. In fact, I'd like to know if we've ever actually won a game when both have started.

Whelan started SHA game I think.
Came on as sub

Beg pardon he started

Crowd booing O'Hare coming off but in reality he's been as poor as everyone else.

Since Smith has been here we've had a couple of poor results, Leeds and QPR, but I've always consoled myself with the fact that nobody has outclassed us. But this is very worrying.

Just goes to show how poor our squad is in general...and it will become even worse without the players we have on loan. To have spent so much in the Championship yet to still be so poor speaks volumes of the mismanagement at the club. DS has to right the wrongs of so many managers that have come before him.

We're not going to solve our problems till we get a decent defensive centre-midfielder. Defence has been generally shite for years, but hasn't helped that they never get any protection.

- Whelan doesn't have the legs, and constantly clogs it at every available opportunity, thus inviting more pressure.
- Jedinak - Likewise
- Hourihane - NOT a defensive midfielder. Doesn't tackle. In fact, I'd put him in the Hitz category..... Pops up with the odd belter of a shot but offers nothing else.

With the squad and injuries we have, I'd play 4-4-2, with SJM and Thor in the middle, Albert/El Ghazi on the wings, and Jimmy/Kienan + Hogan up front. We're not going to keep clean sheets with our current squad, so just adopt the Keegan approach.

*I do think that once the dust settles and we get new players in/back from injury, I'd give Bree a solid run at RB till end of season to prove himself. I think we have a half decent player there.

Hourihane offers nothing else !?....played most games in 2018 and involved in most goals , scoring 11 plus 6 assists. I’m sorry but there are too many negative emotions without looking at facts on here lately

It's just stats. Where's the stat that tells us how many goals we've conceded because he hasn't done his job cutting out the supply line from midfield. Lost count how many times I've seen him watch the opposition coast past him when he should have blocked them off or got his foot in. All very well making goals, but I'd wager he's been responsible for us conceding a fuck load too.
No idea where it is, I guess you would have provided it if available and relevant

Dean - I know you had a fucking massive task in front of you when you took on the job but you are becoming the architect of your own downfall here. I'm all for acknowledging you need time and a chance to change things but fuck me get a grip with your team selections.

Someone quoted that opposition had coasted past him a few times so why boo when substituted !?

So now we’re shit in defence and offer nothing in attack. Brilliant.

Stop being so negative! Think of the positives, our midfield and goalkeeping positions are sorted..... Err, um, or something.

That sounds exactly like a quote halfway through Bruce’s season last year

what do we persistently try to run with the ball past everyone, thereby not having a clue where anybody else is, and ultimately losing possession - time and time again we do it
