I'm convinced there is  player there.
Not having a pop at you because I see this expression a lot, but all it means is a player who should be good but isn't.

I know what you mean Hilts,  I just remember him running the game for Forest at Villa Park a few years ago. I'd love to see that belatedly in a Villa shirt.

Here’s a depressing game. How many of our current squad including loanees in and out could you justifiably attach that description to?

Sub 3 midfielders, move El Ghazi in the middle for O'Hare, Kodjia out wide, Bjarnasson for Whelan and Lansbury for Mcginn.

Mad the midfield hasn't been refreshed for this game. Pointless Whelan plays this game and McGinn deserves a breather.

DS selections become more odd in recent weeks.

Bruceesque who’d of thought a villa fan not ‘getting it’ or running out or repetition in interviews !.... defensive on the ball rest time or high pitch press

I think with the Abraham news we need a bit better performance than this from the team. Come on, sort it out.

Did they make this Tammy announcement that was meant to happen at half time?

What we mustn’t do is concede a early goal

We're not going to solve our problems till we get a decent defensive centre-midfielder. Defence has been generally shite for years, but hasn't helped that they never get any protection.

- Whelan doesn't have the legs, and constantly clogs it at every available opportunity, thus inviting more pressure.
- Jedinak - Likewise
- Hourihane - NOT a defensive midfielder. Doesn't tackle. In fact, I'd put him in the Hitz category..... Pops up with the odd belter of a shot but offers nothing else.

With the squad and injuries we have, I'd play 4-4-2, with SJM and Thor in the middle, Albert/El Ghazi on the wings, and Jimmy/Kienan + Hogan up front. We're not going to keep clean sheets with our current squad, so just adopt the Keegan approach.

*I do think that once the dust settles and we get new players in/back from injury, I'd give Bree a solid run at RB till end of season to prove himself. I think we have a half decent player there.

Hourihane offers nothing else !?....played most games in 2018 and involved in most goals , scoring 11 plus 6 assists. I’m sorry but there are too many negative emotions without looking at facts on here lately

Another FA Cup write off. 2015 aside I can't think of much pleasure in this competition since reaching the semi in 2010. Dire.

I’m expecting Swansea to score a couple more
