Anyone sticking up for Hutton might want to reflect on the huge swathes of space he left open there.

You might want to consider if Hutton is in an advanced position, which he often is, the defensive midfielder covers that area. Basic stuff. Either that or Smith needs to instruct him to keep the shape and not attack.

once or twice in a game that's fair, expecting cover every time he goes forward is the biggest problem with hutton.

Have a word with Dean Smith.

Fair play to McClaren. After a dreadful start he’s really got his team looking very composed and comfortable on the ball. Us - we have reverted back to Bruce ball whacking it long.
