I agree based on the fact the club actually communicated today that there were no match day tickets left. You can’t tell me that roughly half of all ST holders stayed away.

I will freeze this round for a while, though. There are posts on the match thread about this issue, today. 10K is a massive difference. It’s nearly a quarter of the capacity!

The main thing about Guess The Crowd is that it’s honest.  ( I‘d add fun and inclusive.) To be that, it has to have integrity. If we can’t Guess with any expectations of accuracy in the actual figure released by the club, that’s serious for the game.

I know people from the club read this forum, along with others. I’m looking for some explanation or comment to move this on please, and resolve an unhappy perception today that the official attendance figure released is out by nearly or around 5-10K, by people who were there today and saw the turn-out.

Maybe not top of the list for some after a crap result but this is the GTC thread!

Just a point to consider.
As teams here and elsewhere have said, non-attendance by season ticket holders doesn’t cover it, really. That comes up a lot during every season but nowhere near this scale.

When the official attendance was announced there was a combined gasp and laughter around us in the Holte. Patently wrong.

So based on them selling just over 2500 and we had no match day tickets left as all ST holders had they’re seats sold to them (activated free) and not available for anyone else to purchase it has to be over 40k !?
Is our accountant going to be able to ensure  our compliance to FFP easier

It doesnt matter how many tickets are sold really as this is guess the crowd so the only number needed is the official attendance figure. It did look more like 40K than 30k though to be fair.

Well it does matter if the "official" figure is a concocted fairy story and this round should be null and void.

I don't think there was one person who went NYD and yesterday who thought the QPR attendance was  higher

There were loads of empty seats though. Even around us at the centre of the Trinity there were rows with only one or two regulars. The same with Witton Lane and the Lower Holte.
