The Villa v Sunderland, 1913 FA Cup Final
« on: December 13, 2018, 11:07:33 PM »
Love this olden days footage... especially when Villa end up winning the cup.

https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-cup-final-aston-villa-v-sunderland-at-the-crystal-palace-1913-online?wgu=267715_54264_15447418771502_f2e31f1b59&wgexpiry=1552517877&a=327&c=941&m=2&s1=22278&s2=ApOnaRdv7F4.jVDPmMvzGkwKQcdOC6ODgEb63MvODqZQ

Recognise a smattering of Villa players, and possibly Rinder walking behind them as they enter the pitch? I think this was the last time the top two teams in the league met in the cup final for nearly a century.

Amazing some of the quality on show there by both sides considering the game was barely fifty years old.  Thanks for posting.

I recognise Glenn Whelan leading them out.

Great film quality for its age.

Nice to see Jack Devey in the film take his hat off and (I assume) wish the players well as they walk past him.
Not sure who all the committee men are as the players walk out. Its Devey, some chap with a brolly & Ramsey. Rinder is at the back.
Also, note the Sunderland goalie wearing gloves, while our goalie (Hardy) doesn't.

Was wondering what the Hell the referee is wearing?
