Commencing after the ‘boro match.

It’s fine. We’re in the shit as it comes to CB’s at the club. He was decent as a player before, a cock off the pitch. But the circumstances back then was a ship not just sinking on and off the pitch, but also on fire with the players using pure gasoline to put it out. It’s over now. Hope is able to provide something to get us through to January. Him and Chester at the back, AT as a DM in front might be useful.

Hopefully, as its only until the new year, we already have someone lined up to come in.

I think his willingness to train with us for all these weeks on the off chance, and then sign a 5 week contract shows a good attitude.  It’s comforting to have other options in the middle of defence.

He's certainly needed here. Maybe time to forgive and forget his last spell here off the pitch, second chances and all that.

Some quotes from The Daily Mail article

"The former Wales international has been training with the club since September and Smith has now sanctioned a short-term contract."

"It is expected he will sign next week and be under consideration for the game against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Friday. He is not in the squad for this Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough."

"The situation will be assessed again when the winter transfer window opens."

He sure is.  I will hold my nose if he keeps us in touch with the top 2 until Christmas rolls around.

I don’t like him either, but he serves a purpose for five games.

Thanks to fistface, we're doing what we have to do. Pragmatic on the part of Smith.

This is presumably just for cover: Chester is captain, and Tuanzebe has been the better of the two, so would Smith drop one for Collins?  He's not obviously an upgrade on either.

If Chester isn't fit though then it allows us to at least mix it up.

He is wank but i suppose it's an understandable move for a handful of games until January. I certainly didn't want him handed a season contract back in September.
