Nothing better than seeing your team win big away - I enjoyed our trip to the Baggies the other week! 4-1 lol ;D

I enjoyed that game, too. Vanishing in-law's act was repeated for a couple of weeks, lmao

That's a brilliant post Ramsfan. We lived through our own hoof ball bollocks for too long ourselves now so nice to hear that Lampard has brought in a more attractive style of play. In time with a few of his own signings he'll turn out just fine and I reckon next season more likely than this you lot will go up. Good luck with that.

I think you might be right about us. Momentum is building, the players are starting to believe and you can see the freedom it brings. A collection of players who could barely retain possession or control a football look a completely transformed group after a month or so. It's remarkable. We always had the players, just a tactically inept donkey in charge. It's different now. Very different.

Nice post...hope you're right. Some of my extended family are Derby season ticket holders so I've got a soft spot for them. One thing though, I don't remember Derby getting a consolation in the game we scored 6 in. I'm thinking of the one where Petrov scored THAT goal, maybe you're not?

First away game of the season for me thanks to Horatio and it was absolutely fantastic!
Brilliant atmosphere, singing, support and total utter mayhem when we scored.
That second half was the best we have played since Wolves last season, total football and the joy to see when we had gone 0 - 1 up we still attacked and didn't drop back to defend the 18 yard box and hope to win 0 - 1!

I am proud to have the Aston Villa that I love back! UTV

And the mind the gap comments coming out of the sty will stop.

Bloody international break is coming at the wrong time for us.

Don’t agree at all my friend. That’s what it was under Bruce. Under Dean Smith the players who will be at the club will learn more. The manager and his staff will watch more film to look for advantages against future opponents. Dean Smith will use the break to advance his education. Steve Bruce used it to eat more kebabs.
That made me chuckle, he was a lovely bloke but looked and acted more like your favourite uncle with each passing day.

Most enjoyable away performance for quite a few years. I was starting to think we just weren’t going to score, but in the end I think 3-0 flattered Derby.

And, the championship highlights show’s coverage really was pathetic.

Would love to bring back the BBG Ground pal.. spent my formative years cheering us through thick and mostly thin there. There really was NO atmosphere like the BBG.. you had to experience it to believe it. Don't think today's modern all-seater stadia will ever be able to generate that sort of noise and passion. But then, I think the type of people that frequent many football grounds has also changed .. and not for the better in most cases! Best atmosphere at PP this season though today - thanks to your great away following! Nothing better than seeing your team win big away - I enjoyed our trip to the Baggies the other week! 4-1 lol ;D

I reckon the hottest I’ve ever been at a football ground was 1990 at the Baseball Ground.

I thought Axel was brilliant again today. What the fuck was Bruce doing playing him at RB and Jedinak at CB?!

I backed Bruce but watching Dean Smith turn this team around in a month is quite incredible. We now have a plan and shape. A bit of tweaking in January and I can see us doing a Fulham and going on a long run. Now lets just get this blue nose business out the way. I think our strikers will destroy their defence. Hull walked the ball in today .....UTV

Just back. A really great away day, performance and result. As Smith said the standard has now been set.

Just for balance , that Derby team under Clough and ultimately mcKay was a side that deserved everything that came their way.  When you consider the state of the pitches that we played on in those days, their football was a joy to behold.   Especially when the BBG was one of the worst.  I always liked Derby.
