Sunday matches are weekend-wreckers and Sunday night is the worst of all.

2pm is shit as it ruins the whole day and forces me to choose between it, and my son's team. I've only been to Newcastle this season.

Crazy idea but hear me out.  I think we should give Saturday 3pm a try.

I prefer Sunday matches at Villa because it means I can watch my local Rugby team on Saturdays

If you'd shown your son the right path, you wouldn't be in this pickle  ;) Who'd be a Blade or an Owl in the current climate...

No, he's a Villan too, but the team he plays for, and that I 'coach', also play on Sundays and we suffer from only getting pitches and refs booked on the week of the game....

(Youngest is a Blade, and suffering) And yes, hearing Blades and Owls trying to out-do each other is all a bit sad right now!

Cue gnashing and wailing.

I assume Arsenal aren't playing on the Weds evening before like we are.... We did them at home after having a night less to prepare two years ago too, after the Man City win, but that was a Weds eve to Sat eve plus we were the best team in the country.

I always find early kick offs a disadvantage at home, you lose the atmosphere a 3 or 5.30 kick off gets you.

We've won four and drawn one of our last five Saturday lunchtime kick-offs at home. The wins including beating Man City and Newcastle and putting six past Brighton.

Our only home league defeat in the last year and both our heaviest and most embarrassing home defeats under Emery were all in Sunday games.
