For the last bloody time, Allardyce is absolutely the wrong choice. He's the Bruce option we chose two years ago. We all agree the club is broken and needs a complete change of direction, so why the hell do we go all knee-jerk and hire someone who knows how to grind out a draw again? I'll take the extra season in the Championship if it means we come back looking absolutely brilliant with a manager that's right for us rather than a stopgap who clearly isn't.

I agree.  I hope they don't go for someone like Allardyce in the misguided belief that it would be a short term appointment to get us up this year.  I want to see a manager in place for the next 5 years, who builds a system and way of playing that will be the basis of a good side to watch and getting us back in the Premier League and doing well there.

Sat on a coach in the middle of London, hours from home, depressed, we are a shambles & I am really worried with what we have been left with. Saw Hutton at the end giving the death stare or looking confused, anyone know what happened

Remembering a Steve Bruce tactical meeting probably.

I realise I’m not the only one saying it but in case my post didn’t make it clear enough by use of the words ‘shit’ and ‘depressing’ I’m no fan of Allardyce.

As it goes I think we will plump for someone more like Henry than him and that person will fail because we’re hiring from a position of crisis yet again we have a shit squad personality wise, yet again.

Not sure Allardyce is the answer now ( he was he answer when we needed to replace Sherwood , how ever we went for the up and coming Continental manager ..) but IMO he is a step above Bruce .He kept the shambles that was Sunderland up , who fell apart when he left for the England job. At the least he has some sense of Tactics and a plan as opposed to the Steve Bruce just hope the players can work it out themselves approach

It looks bad but with the right appointment we can still make the top 6 , the defence is poor but I watched the WBA game today and they could easily have been 3 nil down before they got into the game. There is no team with a real solid defence the problem is even with all our supposed attacking prowess we have don't seem able to put it together so we are unable to just outscore teams like WBA are doing.

Bruce has left a mess of a squad , unbalanced and under coached how he is still  defended by some is beyond me

Regardless of how shit we are now, we ain’t shit enough to need Allerdyce, Moyes, Pardew, McCarthy or any of those old guard managers.

We don’t have a shit squad. We just need a proven centre half in January

As the title says - Abject. Utter shit. Fuck off Kmac. The sooner he’s gone also the better

You want him sacked the day after the team that are his day job responsibility won 8-0?  & he is doing a perfectly good job in that day job, hopefully the next one in the big seat might actually take notice of the young players we produce.

It matters not how good the players are if they've no direction. KMac can't or won't change anything in 3 days and certainly isn't a motivator.

International break, new manager, a couple of new signings and we'll be fine.

Bog standard championship managers? We’ve been turned into a bog standard championship team, on a good day.

No no no to last pay cheque relics, please.  Let's just accept we have blown promotion well at least automatic this year and concentrate on someone who is going to build a system and stick to it and either make players he has adapt to it and/or brings in players to suit it.  Seven Manager's in eight years is it?

Allardyce is an expert in stopping teams getting relegated. He might be just the man we need the way we are going.

Yes. He should have been sacked a long time ago.

Giving the death stare to who?
