why a separate poll? There is no way he is going to become our next manager.

Even if I try to play devil's advocate and say he did a good job at Preston and Everton and had an almost impossible act to follow at United and actually took over a team that despite winning the league had several issues to be addressed, not least how many goals they conceded in Ferguson's last season and the fact Sunderland had been struggling and on the side for a while and were a basket case of a club by the time he got there and that he did a decent short term job at West Ham and that he may well be successful in his next job, I still think I would be borderline suicidal if he gets the Villa job.

Just to clarify, I voted no.

I get very nervous when I see posts tempting fate. ;)

About 4 years ago I watched a Villa game in a Trinity Rd executive box, on a work related jolly. A waitress came over the us and said there was going to be a very special person in the next box along who had asked that no one bother him for photos or autographs.

We excitedly debated who it could be. Prince William? Tom Hanks?

It was David Moyes.

Nope. Nah. No way. Negative. Out of the question. Not on your life. Not in a million years. Not for all the tea in China. Under no circumstances.

No.

Why would we pay off a has been busted flush who plays drab, risk-averse football in order to replace him with a has been busted flush who plays drab, risk-averse football?

Is it too soon to start a 'we want the new manager out' thread?

Moyes was the ideal replacement for MON.  I have no idea if he's till any good, but the evidence suggests not.
