One substitution made by Preston and we are completely overrun. Our Midfield just disappeared. It looked nailed in 3 or 4-0 at half time. I didn’t see penalty but Whelan? No logic whatsoever. The first ten minutes of the second half were awful and it’s not the first time that’s happened. The crowd have obviously had enough of Bruce, if they can afford to dump him then now is the time, not after Saturday, now.

Just looking at the game without the rest of the issues, Preston looked every inch the bottom team in the first half.  We played really well.

We let them play for 10 mins after half time when Johnson came on; we didn't counter the change and paid the price. I thought the law had changed on red cards(?),   but nonetheless the players were as culpable as Bruce in the second half. The midfield 4 made little effort and made it look as if we were playing with 6 men.  They could surely have done more (if they wanted to of course?) and then woke up for the last 5 minutes.

When we play against 10, it's always 'difficult', but we showed that not to be the case.

As an aside from the utter misery of our ‘team’, how bad is it that the referee doesn’t even know the rules of the game?

As expected it's all about the penalty and sending off for Bruce.  I suppose he was bound to use that as the main excuse even if it's a total red herring.  And no plan for if his two designated penalty takers aren't playing or have been taken off.  Brilliant.

Bunn is crap.  Can't kick properly, the effort for their free kick was diabolical.  You play him, expect mistakes.  I blame Bruce.
Defensively, we were all over the place once Chester went off.  Tuanzebe was arguably the better of the defenders tonight but heading is a worry.  We lose Chester now for a spell.  Tuanzebe and Jedinak as our centre backs against Millwall?  Oh joy!
Midfield is struggling to click.  McGinn, is he really all that, or have we Bruced him?
We might have bossed the first half but we saunter around the pitch a lot and Hourihane and Grealish are not doing the business.
Second half was as disorganised as I have seen us since we were getting relegated from the Premier Division, when none of them gave a shit.

A terrible second half performance personified by the arrogance of Whelan in snatching the ball from people used to scoring goals and taking penalties. Utter incompetence all round and I have no doubt at all that Bruce has either lost the plot, and doesn't know how to change it or doesn't really give a shit.  The owners need to act, or they lose our faith too.

Fuck all to do with the refs decision. Their team had a half time team talk. Our manager doesn’t do tactics

I don't think we played particularly well in the first half.  Preston were like rabbits in the headlights.  When they realized they were the headlights of a Reliant Robin they started to attack us.

Post-match interview https://www.facebook.com/avfcofficial/videos/744063742598305/

I can’t believe I’m going to say this as I’ve wanted him gone for ages, but I actually felt sorry for him after watching this. Decent bloke, just totally out of his depth these days, hope they put him out of his misery tomorrow for all our sakes.

"The game changed on one horrible decision" - Bollocks did it, they were totally on top right from the start of the 2nd half because we were far too deep. The penalty and red card was a consequence of us bottling it and being far too deep.

"The 2 designated peanlty takers - Kodjia and Tammy - are sitting on the bench unfortunately" - who's fucking fault is that you bullshitting c**t?

"We'll have to roll our sleeves up" - yep, that's all it needs, no coaching or tactics.

No mention of there or thereabouts though, so no winners in the bingo.

His interview on 5 Live sounds pretty conclusive (I hope). "I know the refs have a difficult job to do, but when I'm fighting for mine I really need them to step up and do theirs".

I don't he's paid millions of pounds a year and all we hear are excuses and hindsight. He's a fucking joke and the team looks inspid and lazy. He doesn't work hard enough and neither do they.

No sympathy, just fuck off and rob someone else.
