Surely Whelan passing the penalty back to the keeper having made it clear as fucking day where he was putting it is the most obvious sign that the players want rid of him.

We all want Bruce gone, but are you really suggesting Whelan missed a penalty on purpose? Really.

I thought it was more of a sign that (a) Whelan is shit and (b) Whelan was one of the last people who should have been taking that penalty.

Why didn't Grealish take the pen?
Oh well, a win would have been good but undeserved.
So lets see what happens in the morning, if not before..

Not really, It's just that before he took it I expected a tame effort that the keeper would deal with easily and he did exactly that. I think it was just a really shit penalty, but it was so poor and the reaction both to getting the penalty and to it being missed was so muted that it felt, at the time, like something odd was going on and I just couldn't put my finger on what it was.
