Very true Brian.  We never saw old Doug wear trainers, although there was that one time when he invented that bicycle kick thingy.

Looks like he's finally gone according to companies house.

Not necessarily gone just the fact he is no longer a person with significant control, meaning his shareholding has reduced below a threshold which is probably 25%.

My abiding memory of him will be his face as the camera panned to him during the last few minutes of the play off final.  He knew he’d gambled, lost and we were spectacularly in the shit.

The old very non PC word to describe that look for someone of his ethnicity was "inscrutable".

Correct. It looks like the other two have been issuing shares at the end of last year, which have diluted Xia's holding.  I think that's what the Special Resolutions were probably about last year.

Xia hasn't gone completely. His share ownership has reduced to 25% according to the B'ham Mail.

When the 2 main men decide to sell the club, then Xia's shareholding could be worth a few quid!

Didn't Edens say recently it was just part of their strategy for 2019 to gradually reduce Xia's shareholding to the point that he was going to be bought out? Personally I miss his inscrutable hieroglyphics shit - nothing else mind.

Does anyone have a video of this reaction? I have searched and cannot find it. We were at Wembley so unable to watch it live.

I saw Doug playing in full Villa kit and football boots for a ten to fifteen minute cameo appearance in a daytime charity game at Villa Park in the mid eighties. I think it was a Sunday morning around 1986 and may have been a charity warm up game before the first team played an Australian national team. I think Nigel Spink played at centre forward in the same game and scored a couple.

Google jar squatter for an idea of how it would have felt to him

PLEASE DO NOT GOOGLE JAR SQUATTER IF YOU ARE AT WORK OR IN A POSITION WHERE YOU CAN NOT VIEW EXTREMELY NSFW MATERIAL

If you do, you'll also need to order yourself some mind bleach
