Just got back. Still in shock at just how poor that was. A shambles from first to last. He can't survive this. Once the away fans turn surely its all over.

I have never seen so many police in and around a stadium, when there was trouble two of them just stood and filmed it, leaving the stewards to struggle to sort it.

I mentioned that somewhere here, wondered what info they had that had led to them committing that many plod. Only ever seen more at Blues and last seasons away at Wolves.

Is it all that surprising when our own fans are assaulting each other in the away end? Not the first time this has happened in the last year, either. Shameful

That was TWO idiots, just two. The policing was overkill both before and after the game, this is South Yorkshire police though...

I didn’t see the match, so can’t really comment on that, but the score line suggests it’s time for a change of the management team. Seems as if SB has taken us as far as he can. I doubt if he stays he will do as well as last season. And that wasn’t quite good enough.

He’s a good man, so I don’t think he deserves any personal abuse. He came in under difficult circumstances, steadied the ship, but considering the money spent, has under-achieved. Time for somebody else to move us forward. I think he knows that the game is up too.

Thanks Steve and cheerio.

Maybe he is a good man, but we employ him as a football manager and at that he is useless. Words that sum him up have been used on this thread pretty well, he is lazy, his approach to transfers scatter gun, his approach to tactics non-existent. Today he lost the core of the away support, one major sign that his P45 is close and also it looks to me like the majority of the players. Terry kept this club together last year, not Bruce.

It happens, it’s always happened. A concoction of too much booze, sun and the mix of those who say everyone should support the team no matter what and those criticising. Fella near me was banging the drum about how we should all get behind the team, a few minutes later he had passed out asleep, pissed.

It does make you question the Polices use of resources, I’d feel more than usually sorry for anyone burgled in Sth Yorkshire yesterday.

They'd heard a Brazillianesque team were in town?

I wouldn’t worry too much about general Police resources in the actual Sheffield area as the officers on the football will all be on a cancelled rest day where they will get a rainy or snowy Tuesday off in return.

That possibly explains why they all looked so confrontational on leaving the ground.

South Yorkshire police are a law unto themselves. Went to Hillsboroughna few years back and they reminded me of some banana republic police force

It was pretty terrible and they should have had more than four. It felt similar to the Preston game under RDM and we know what happened after that. I don't think a change will be long in coming.

The Preston comparison is a good one. Then we had five forward players running randomly around with no plan or clue what to do. This time it’s defenders.

It was the same at Sheff Wednesday away last year. Two pubs within five minutes walk of the station shouldn't need police horses and a full squadron of response rozzers.

Rotherham was similar two years ago. Definitely a Yorkshire Police thing.

It must be a visiting big club/categorization sitch. I went to Hillsborough with some BHA mates several seasons back: and plod were conspicuous by their absence. Cue Wendy twats waiting outside the turnstiles for away fans to come out & having a pop at all & sundry. One Stone Island-clad nobber walked up to me & asked me if I 'were Brighton'? I said, "no, Hove actually"(in a non South Coast accent) - & he didn't know how to react  & promptly walked off to look for somebody else to slap. Yorkshire, eh?  ::)

Ha ha that reminds me of walking up to St Andrews once on my own and several lads approaching me and asking if I was Villa - I sort of glared back and replied "yer what" as though I couldn't quite believe theyd asked and they soon buggered off.

They were in full ninja turtle regalia too. A line of horses and then two lines of sweaty men dressed like they're about to invade Poland boxing us in as we queued was very much overkill.
