And Purslow is only going to be able to make impacting, lasting change by removing this relic of a manager as soon as possible.

Bruce must be one of the laziest managers we've had. Any problem? Just loan some expensive Premier league player in as a solution. Nothing new worked on, no new shape, no changes to counter the opposition, nothing. Just the same turgid shit week after week.

Easy money, £3m a year for next to fuck all.

Maybe Bruce is suffering professionally because of his personal distress at losing his parents. Maybe football doesn't seem very important just now.

I feel for him.
But he has to go. Let him recover and begin again somewhere else.

If that's the case, then why hasn't he walked? He's certainly got more than enough money now to have an extremely comfortable life away from football.

He'd easily get a gig at Talksport.

Aye, it's the obvious place for failed managers to spout their shit. He'd be a perfect foil for a smug twat like Dim White...

ps Funnily enough, I've just heard failed manager Stewart Pearce lauding Bruce's promotion record on Talkshite - in defence of him continuing as our manager. Who'd have thunk it?  ::)

Pretty much this, he’s not doing enough

It's supposedly more like £1.5m  a year, which is still £1.5m too much. He doesn't take training, his signings are scattergun at best, his tactics are awful. I wonder when the last time was that he could look in the mirror and think he truly earned his wages.

There is a podcast called Athletico Mince by Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson....

In this they parody something called the "Manager's Club"

Essentially it's all the old school managers on the merry go round picking up their cash for f****g over a football club a tactic (yes it's the only one I think Brucey has) known as Destory and Exit and then lunching on the proceeds! Pardew, McClaren, Allardyce, Hughes, Dowie etc... No mention yet of Bruce.... I expect him to get an airing in the next episode in fact I f*****g insist on it!

The highlights on sky are harrowing. Their second goal especially- keeper throws to halfway line with mcginn bullied to the ground, run from halfway line with no challenge, scores from outside box

I think we are paying the price of giving him free reign to buy/loan/acquire whichever players take his fancy at any particular time. All without any plan or discernible way of playing.

And because of that we have ended up with a rag tag bunch of (talented) individuals who, on very rare occasions, play as a team but on many more occasions play like the individuals they are.
He (we) then need to rely on one of those individuals having a moment of quality to make something happen.
I think we can all agree that we have only really seen top drawer football from a Villa team managed by Bruce less than a dozen times, and probably only 2 or 3 where it has been for the whole game.

No tactics, no plan, no future.

Agree with this .
Though the rag tag players less so.
They are too quality at this championship level and looking at it should be top end performers with top performers. Quality and consistency.

The common denominator is Bruce.
Perhaps there is a lack of foresight in seeing anything other than thinking players must be up for battles and being physically competitive.

Such an English old school approach which has hindered coaching and development of players for years and possible always .

Southgate has become proactive and worked on positive progressive play and style . It was with sense and realism . But also spirited by moments created .

Southgate only got top role by default ! Alladyce and Bruce were the 2 contenders and despite both relative success it was very fortunate that Bruce didn't get England job and big Sam was caught out.

Anyway Bruce is far far too limited in his philosophy and has little to know idea of modern football approach.

I really laugh at his 100% and rolling sleeves attitude when he doesn't see football as a beautiful game creating moments or even have a methodical approach.

It's a run around be physical, get stuck in  and score goals approach.

Many non UK players pundits never talk in this way so it's not just Bruce with a narrow small minded attitude but a inherent problem with some certain British attitude .

I rather have ranieri , blanc , or of this ilk who has an idea how to play the game and produce performances and results.

Derby and lampard lost 4-1 earlier in season and come back strong (I argued Lampards case in may he should have come to villa with JT)

Bruce squad is arguably better and he's way more experienced so we should be very annoyed that we took such a hammering .

I'm annoyed what happened and don't see much changing under his tenure unlike what lampard and his fresh ideas have achieved at Derby or even Potter and Swansea.

Bruce is yesterday man let it be so for us too !

The scorer of that second goal - Duffy - had a great game; really bullied McGinn and JG.

If i didn't know better I would say that Bruce is making sure that is replacement will need a long time to put a balanced squad together that can win this division.

That's it for me. Never attending again until sanity prevails at the club. Bruce has reduced me to an angry wreck. Enough's enough.

Monday morning after Wolves. Followed by one of our worst performances of the season two days later.

If there is one word to sum up his tenure it would be scattergun. No real strategy in his signings and that has translated to our style of play. Sometimes good but other times well below what should be expected from a decent set of players.

It's bloody marvellous; and the latest offering from an arch Destroy & Exit-er McClaren (Picks the QPR Team) had me crying with laughter earlier. It's definitely time The Mincers had Bruce on board.

Disastrous keeping:

1 - Didn't come for the cross.
2 - Beaten by a shot frpm 30 yards.
3 - Pushed the ball into his own net.
4 - Risky throw out returned with interest.

Nyland is old enough to have learned his trade by now.

Mind you so is Little Orphan Annie.
Now this is just bs

He’s had months to buy fucking defenders, he hasn’t and we’ve lost four  one. What a surprise.

Wow...those highlights. Inept isn't the word. Sheffield played through the lines so easily, where was Whelan infront of the back 4?! We are terrible defending crosses this season which is a bit of a disaster in this league.
