To me, it was obvious from that bench that Bruce didn't care what the result was tonight. If we won, great, but there was no way he was chasing it.

Just the few little clips that we have seen on Sky and the players look like they are doing things at half pace.  The penalty was a back pass.  Utterly disgusting attitude from all of them.  Total crap.

Great, well we won’t need to worry about the cup anymore.

It may be our 8th game, but that team hasn't played eight games.

the penalty was like one of those charity penalties against some little kid when you actually do all you can so the keeper saves it

Do we have to enter these competitions if the manager doesn’t want to play in them? Serious question.

You think half the clubs in the Premier League would enter if it was voluntary?

I do take his point though about the number of games (although we cant use it as an excuse, it's the same for every team in our league). We'll have played our 8th game of the season already on Saturday. I think every manager will say that's too many after just under a month.

Not having a pop Clampy but if they were working 15 hour shifts and didn't have every other day off, I'd have more sympathy for them.  They are professional athletes.  Pampered, overpaid wankers who lack ruthlessness.  This comes from the management team.

Just back from the game.

A strange game which never got going. We played at pre season practice pace. Burton Albion were not very good. In the first half both teams managed a shot each, sort of.

A full away end, with the usual infiltrators in the home sections were badly let down

We may have played 8 games by Saturday Clampy but of that team who played tonight only Tuanzebe and Adomah have been regulars .So playing to many games in such a short period is no excuse for the manager

Lose on Saturday which could easily happen as Sheffield have got into their stride and it will be an uncomfortable two weeks for SB I think.

Our results are getting more mediocre by the game.

After so many years and so many managers serving up this crap, I am becoming inured to it.
I can honestly say I did not lose a heart beat on this result.
I said on a different thread, for the new owners this is year zero.
They have inherited Bruce.
Getting a back room structure in place C.E.O etc is probably their priority.
Meanwhile they support their investment by giving the incumbent support.
I would guess they are already sounding out opinions and options as to their longer term aspirations and alternatives
They bought Aston Villa along with its traditions and potential.
They may have to (along with us) tolerate Bruceball until they have a coherent plan in place
They seem the most professional of our previous owners so hold the faith, it will not last.
