Bruce was a brilliant centre half, it’s puzzling that he thinks Jedinak is up to playing there.

My Rangers friends (they’re actually sound) reckon we’ve got a steal with McGinn. Their summary was a young Scott Brown but better. The “bad news” is he’ll be at Villa for 2 years before we sell him for 20m. 😢
I can’t believe that. That you have Rangers supporting friends😂 on McGinn he could as good as Pat McMahon. Possibly the best debut since Dion Dublin.

What a debut that was! His and Carbone's are two of my absolute favourites.
Hope you enjoyed today, fella!

Sasa Curcic also had an excellent debut...
I'm guessing your a glass half empty kinda guy ....

How many more games & mistakes will it take for Bruce to realise that Jedinak is not a centre half?
Surely Mad Tom is a better prospect, until we sign someone else?
Don't we have any young defenders who are better than Tuanzebe?
And does his loan mean we have to play him, like that waste of space from spurs last season?
And for feck sake, play Hutton at right back his natural position. Not rocket science is it?
As for Kodjia, I'd say to him "shape up mate or we'll ship you out" as he has been dross so far.
Green is work in progress and will improve with more game time.
Can Elmo play LB?
Sorry, but Thor isn't a replacement for Hourihane.
McGinn, how did we manage to steal this guy for the price we paid?
Nyland (and Moreira),really better than Steer or Sarkic??

Sasa Curcic got the hook on his debut as a magician in Las Vegas.

Luc Nilis caused a sharp intake of breath on his debut.  It did not end well.

Since the great windfall of keeping Jack ,signing McG and having a great start of the season there is one flaw in Bruce gameplan that I think cost us the PL last season. Bruce seems to rate people in terms of who they are , what they done in the past and their off the field status. Not what dynamic and potential to change the team they bring.

So you got 3 DMC competing for the same spot. Wealan, Jedi and BB.  Its a kind of tossup between Jedi and Wealan but he will start both of them ahead of BB if they are available. They key though is whoever is best of playing in the 4 thats in front of the DMC, assuming that we have the 4-1-4-1 that Bruce seems to favor. You do that fast and accurate and the attacking midfielder more often will have time to turn and run at the opposing defenders. Last year that meant Jack and Conor, this year it might be even more important with Jack and McG.

BB is turning the play and gets it up the pitch ALOT faster then both Wealan and Jedi. That isnt a glamourous job but the differance between a defender hacking at Jack from behind while he runs back to receive a slow obvious pass from Jedinak or running at that defender with pace in the attacking direction will mean alot to both Villas ability to break down defensive teams as well as keeping our key player free of injuries (they will keep diving in at him but if he sees it coming he can at least try dodge it).

Bruces inability to realize this or just his obsession with DMC protecting the back four rather then enabling the four in front cost us the Fulham game (and the automatic promotion as well). Hope he wise the fuck up this year.

Never as good as Pat McMahon!

I was cheered up pre-match when I heard Pat Nevin say we had one of the best deals of the summer. He reckons there were two Scottish players who could walk into the premier league - McGinn and Tierney (

Did you go Paulie? Would’ve been a great day out eh?

How many times does Bruce have to pick Jedi at centre back before he understands he is a liability there, why can't he use players in their right position? a centre back and someone to lead the line and I think we can do it this season.

He did ok there at times last season didn't he? Just thought it was pointless change to swap Elphick out for him. Tuanzebe already seems fairly pointless, we already four very experienced right backs in the squad, don't need another one.

i like your rants Eddie, but tell Kodjia we’ll ship him out after two shit games? He’ll come good soon. Seems as if there is less pressure on him this season, as the goals are flying in from everywhere. 6 in 3 is it?
