Biggest Trophy Villa ever won...
« on: July 20, 2018, 12:40:09 AM »
As the friendly against Burton is being played for the Bass Charity Vase - would be appropriate to show the Sheriff of London's Charity Shield - won in 1899 and  1901 It's the one you can't miss  lol. Replaced soon after by THE Charity Shield

I remember as a kid having a Panini sticker album (I think it was the 1978 one) and they had included stickers of various trophies. If I remember right the relatively modestly sized Scottish Cup had a round base as big as a dining room table.

I don't think that is by St Philip's cathedral. The cathedral has different designs on the balustrades and windows.
Weren't there buildings of a similar construction actually part of Villa Park at that time?

By Jove, you are correct. You may also be correct in the possible location at VP. Some of the oldest buildings were around the current location of the players car park, I believe - and at the time the picture was taken, they would have been extant.

Says a lot about the architectural style of the Lower Gounds.
