RIP Ron Manager
« on: May 30, 2018, 10:24:31 PM »
I have only recently been informed that John Innes (aka Ron Manager of this parish) sadly passed away October last year.
From time-to-time we would correspond by email regarding little snippets of historical Villa related newspaper articles. Last week I found something interesting on the BNA website and thought I’d let John know, only for his partner to reply with this sad news.
John posted on H&V for quite a number of years, I for one, always enjoyed reading his posts. Especially his thoughts and experiences of days gone by in the Memories section of this site.
I know only a week or so ago, someone asked if they had heard from him lately as he hadn’t posted in a while.
RIP John

That is very sad news. John helped me with some useful information regarding the archives at Birmingham library and because of his help I was able to source a photo of me and my late father in a packed Holte End in 1967.
My condolences to his family.
