Thanks VCTM and The Edge. Looking forward to it! Been over 30 times to Liverpool and Everton but never seen the City Centre!
I've worked in the NW a lot while contracting and I have to say that imo Manchester is hugely overhyped for some reason. Liverpool knocks spots off it and I'm a proud Brummie.

I don't know why anyone with the money would think that waiting for a club to go tits up before then buying it "on the cheap" is a good idea. Unless you're planning on some real estate killing, if you're looking to buy it as a going concern you'd want it as fit and healthy as possible. Surely?

And way more expensive.

I think this ‘saving face’ business is overplayed. There’s very little face left to save. He’s fucked up from every angle. In retrospect, I think his face disappeared when he released a brief bio when he was buying us that stated he used to play football ‘in the Messi position*’.

If he wants to save Face he should fuck off to the A-Team.

*There are puns there. Lots of them.

If someone thinks that waiting for the club to go into adminstration to buy us is a good idea then they're probably not someone we want to be sold to because it's dangerously short-sighted.

Is is - on Hardman St.  Few good pubs around that area - Fly in the Loaf, The Grapes & The Caledonia are all pretty good too, only a short walk from the Philharmonic.

It’s ALWAYS about the bottom line.

Then find a better vehicle for your investment than a football club that's already in the shit, otherwise you ain't ever seeing a penny coming back.

This has to be the most depressing and demoralizing summer in living memory and mine goes back to the 70's. I've never known things to be so downbeat and the total silence and anything resembling good news from the club is a disgusting way to treat the masses of loyal fans.  (Just had to get that off my chest lol)

Buying a football club must be much the same thought process as buying a Range Rover V8 petrol

‘ ooooh i like that and want one, bet it goes well fast’

Yeah but it will cost you a bucket load of cash to buy,
the depreciation will be horrendous in a very short time
You’ll never get your money back
it will spend more time not working than working
and when it is it will cost you a fucking shit load in running costs

‘Yeah think I’ll get one ‘

Re Liverpool - Ye Cracke, The Belvedere Arms and The Blackburne (nice food) are also not far from the Philharmonic.  Top day out, have fun!

The Philharmonic and the Grapes are my favourites on that list. Also in the same area is Ye Cracke. Little back street boozer. It's where John Lennon and Stu Sutcliffe drank when they were at art college. It also has a beer garden.
