thanks for that. My opinion of Jordan has changed quite a bit recently - he does seem to have a genuine regard for Villa although I guess you could argue that another failed owner is the last thing we need.

I read his autobiography a few years back. Self made millionaire who got in at the start of the mobile phone boom and doesn't suffer fools gladly. I am guessing he is 'Marmite' and you like him or not but personally I like the guy.

Any links to the Jordan stuff? I can't see anything on talksport.

I think if you go on the Talksport website you can replay any of the shows from earlier today. He was talking to Jim White I think but you might have to listen to the whole show to hear the Villa bit.

Some good comments from Simon Jordan. It dosen't have to be a financial apocalypse if we make some brave calls. Oh and change ownership.

He has strongly hinted in the past that he already has some insider knowledge of what goes on at Villa. He has just gone a step further and said that whilst he has no wish to ever own a club again after his experiences at Palace, there is a possibility he "may have some involvement in a takeover of Villa".

I have never quite understand his apparent affinity towards us. He always speaks very highly of us whilst often ridiculing our neighbours, .

I think most of it is do with his loathing of the Dildo Brothers.

He has openly admitted that he was pissed off at them poaching Bruce and has also openly admitted that by appointing Francis (who the dildo brothers had just sacked and replaced with Bruce) was an attempt to get one over on them that backfired. Bruce got promoted, Francis got fired.

I reckon Tony is clearing the decks of anyone linked to Wyness.

E&S write Matt Maher states Tony decided to sack him and it happened when he tuned up this morning for work.

Wouldn't it be for any new owners to decide who and who not to keep? I don't know, I'm just guessing like everyone else.

It doesn't matter who is your boss next week, if I am your boss today I can sack you.

Which reminds me of a situation about twenty years ago when the pub I was bar manager of was sold by Allied Domecq to a private landlord. I received redundancy money from the brewery and was then reinstated (with a wage rise) the next day by the new landlord. I used the redundancy money to swap my Nissan Micra for a nice Audi GT Coupe.

Delboy will fill the role with some other laughable character who watched some villa game in China 10 years ago as a ten year old and became in love with us. We are fast approaching the point where Paul Lambert was basically running the club a few years ago because everyone else had fucked off.

Is there any chance of anyone at the club communicating with the fanbase? Or do we have to wait for another borat style tweet.

Who is running things now then?

Is it that Chinese student who wrote in that he was a big Villa fan and then got appointed assistant to the chairman? Mr Ho or whatever his name is?

Lew Corgan is handy in a crisis. He sorted out Wasps.

If there are any nests at BH or VP,  he will be the main man.

From the Meaning Evil.

Steve Bruce to hold crunch talks with Tony Xia's advisors

The latest update on the AVFC boss

Steve Bruce is set for crunch talks with senior officials over his Aston Villa future in the next 24 hours.

Owner Tony Xia has told his assistant Rongtian He to fly over to Portugal and speak with the manager who is preparing a summer training camp for his senior stars.

Chief commercial officer Luke Organ is expected to join him after the pair delivered the news of Steve Round’s sacking this morning.

He, also known as ‘Ho’ has taken a hands-on role this summer and could partly fill the role left behind by Round.

Villa will not be announcing an official replacement - as the position is now deemed vacant - but extra responsibility will be handed to Xia’s right-hand man, who acts as the owner’s eyes and ears in the Midlands.

Addressing the manager in the hours ahead also shows a sign of how prominent his role is right now.

The agenda, though, is not yet clear.

It’s normal for senior officials to meet with the management team ahead of pre-season - but after a summer of chaos it’s difficult to predict what happens next at Villa.

Xia has already fallen out with former CEO Keith Wyness who left last month - and sacked his close ally, Round, just two days after he returned to Bodymoor Heath ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Chief scout Tony Coton has also left so the football department is currently low on experienced ‘football men’.

BirminghamLive understands that Bruce will not walk away from his role and is ready to start preparing the claret and blues for their third season in the Championship.

Whether his outlook changes in the weeks ahead remains to be seen.

Villa are expected to lose Jack Grealish this summer as Tottenham remain keen on the 22-year-old ace. John Terry has already left, the loan players from last season will not be returning and James Chester is also attracting interest.

If Villa are unable to top-up their squad with quality replacements, Bruce might start to consider his future.

Of course a decision may have already been made by then and much will depend on the outcome of tomorrow’s talks.

As for Round, his dismissal certainly came as a shock.

This looks absolutely fucking shambolic. Is there anybody who knows anything about football left at the club? I'm more worried about our future now than I've ever been
