By the lack of transparancy from Xia or from the club, my personal take on it is that our state of affairs has little to do with the Peoples Republic of China but only at the doorstep of Xia.

We gambled and we lost - simple as that.  It's how we recover that is now the concern.
As they say the silence is deafening, if Xia had something good or reassuring to say he would say it as it would be in his interest to do so.

Not really, all he would get is a load of "You're lying" and "Don't tell us, show us".
Of course it is, you have the creditors not giving credit and trying to collect debt, you have reluctance to buy season tickets and pretty much anything else.
The speculation will be driving down value.
If he was in a position to say he has secured enough capital to continue operations and that the financial position has been stabilized he would say it.

Whose reluctant to buy season tickets? We've sold over 20,000.

Absolute nonsense to imagine he's making a business decision of this magnitude because he thinks his country has fallen out with Trump, goodness sake this time next week they'll be best buddes, Aston Villa have got nothing to do with trade tariffs or deals, in fact you could legitimately make the case for resolving this between all countries in the true spirit of sport, so are China saying if there were an olympic games next week, they would refuse to go because of trade tariffs, denying all there athletes the chance to compete. get the club sold for goodness sake so we can concentrate on the coming season.

I saw he turned down 30 mill from American group for 30% of the club - that would have only kept us a float for 6 mths I suppose
where did you see that ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that £30m have gone to Tone and not the club itself. No guarantee he'd put that back into the club, but I suppose it would depend how much investment the new part owners would want to stick into the club. Probably not a lot if Tone still owns 70% of it. I think there is always going to be a lot of bullshit and misinformation around in these times, it's difficult to know what to believe.

If as is normal it would be a load of gibbering man baby twitter nonsense about doing our best UTV, by the way happy birthday Jimmy I would rather hear nothing at all.

The Mail have embellished this old news today with more details of the American bid.  Apparently they wanted to sell Jack for £40m minimum and use that money as working capital.

Sounds quite sensible under the circumstances, apart from the fact that we won't get £40m for Jack. Maybe £30m if there is enough interest.

Glad he's knocked them back.

I'd like to see us in a healthy financial position preferably with new owners and being able to hang on to Kodjia and Chester and with the money to buy Johnstone personally. This potential continuous scratching around to pay tax bills and wages malarkey doesn't really  sit well.

We've secured a £50m loan which is enough to keep us going for 12 months or while we try and sell the club.

I would rather keep Jack as I think we're far more likely to be promoted than not with him in the side.

I'd definately rather keep him but without knowing the full extent of what's going on I'm hoping that it wouldn't be another gamble at going up this year. As you say, the £50m is a loan.
