If we were Man Utd or someone else fashionable, do you reckon our Government would intervene if this is true?

No.

He's refusing to sell to American's because of Trump's tariff policy? That's sounds ludicrous even by James Nursey's standards.

Losing face in China by selling to the Yanks, doesn’t seem that far fetched. His masters won’t like that.

The only stake any one is going to pay that sort of money for is a controlling stake.

I agree with Clampy on this
I've got no problem blaming Trump for all the trouble he causes but to try and implicate him in Villa's downfall is just rediculous

Agree.  The financial screws were going on in China before Trump kicked off his trade war.

There is absolute no evidence to suggest that China capital controls have anything whatsoever to do with our current predicament.

In fact Brian we are pretty short of evidence or facts.
All that we do know is that the CEO has gone and we failed to make an HMRC payment which led the the threat of Winding up.

By the lack of transparancy from Xia or from the club, my personal take on it is that our state of affairs has little to do with the Peoples Republic of China but only at the doorstep of Xia.

We gambled and we lost - simple as that.  It's how we recover that is now the concern.

As they say the silence is deafening, if Xia had something good or reassuring to say he would say it as it would be in his interest to do so.

Not really, all he would get is a load of "You're lying" and "Don't tell us, show us".
