No one foresaw it? Plenty on here did. I could quote loads of example from different folks in addition to this 11 months ago.

Well there's only 3 new players, plus every side has new players to bed in. I've said I think we'll struggle to be promoted but we really do need to go up this season. Parachute money is peanuts next year, I think we're in deep shit if we are stuck in this division for another year.

You're right plenty, including myself, thought we'd struggle if we didn't get promoted due to reduced parachute money.
I think, if we're honest, the 'Deep shit' would have been having to cut back slightly, offloading aging players and not being able to just buy who we wanted to, but, I doubt very much anyone foresaw the magnitude of financial trouble we'd gotten ourselves into.

I pretty much agree.

I suspected it'd mean selling Grealish and working on the wage bill.

Failing to meet the monthly PAYE bill and actual discussion of administration as a possibility is not what I foresaw, this is a whole different level of shit.
I thought deep shit was where we are now without the drama.

I bet Tony had his PA busy arranging urgent travel and a meeting having received such a stern letter.

I know John e but its a poorly written letter.
It could have been condensed into a few sentences and I am not sure   “ what further action we should take” is going to do the trick.

I think it’s futile and that says more about our absentee owner than the well meaning AVST.

What’s all this no money stuff anyway?  We’ve just signed Sam Johnstones replacement 16 year old goalkeeper.  Viljami Sinisalo.

Was this not the paper who was reporting Bruce to be pleasantly surprised?

There's so much speculative bollocks at the moment. The Levy-ism in full affect. Those Jews ah? Mirror scrotes.

You think there is a Jewish effort to get Grealish to Spurs on the cheap?

No, I'm suggesting the Mirror is using Jewish stereotypes. Why is it only Levy, a Jew, is seen as some arch negotiator or tight when Spurs waste as much money as their contempories.

Another piece of proof that the written word is oft mistaken.

I think they are asking exactly what we want to know regardless of whether it could have been shortened.
I remember looking up at the Chinese  flag on the Witton Lane Stand two seasons ago thinking that it was bad enough getting an American to listen to our dissatisfaction but that we’d  have no chance getting our voices heard in the free democracy that is China should we ever need to.

You old cynic you. Wtf should they be doing if not requesting clarity from the club? We have little enough voice as it is. Might as well let the Trust represent fans' interests insofar as possible (sorry if your individual needs aren't met).

The Trust need someone on board who can improve communications like this. It's poorly written, and though heartfelt is amateurish in execution. The tone is wrong too, it needs to be far less demanding, which does nothing but wind people up, and more questioning and collaboration.

Aston Villa's new management structure being probed by the Football League — for not knowing enough about the game

EXCLUSIVE: Committee running crisis club since chief exec Keith Wyness' removal yet to give Steve Bruce a transfer budget

Aston Villa is now being run on a day-to-day basis by a committee of four — and the Football League are looking into the management structure.

Bosses at the EFL have held two meetings with the new top brass at Villa Park, and have voiced concerns at the lack of football knowledge.

The quartet consists of chief commercial officer Luke Organ, finance director Ian Hopson, lawyer Victoria Wilkes and Xia’s eyes and ears at Villa Park, Rongtien He.

Since chief executive Keith Wyness was kicked out of office, those four are responsible for day-to-day affairs. But the EFL are taking some convincing they have the necessary credentials to run Villa in its current state.

The crisis-hit Birmingham club managed to pay the wages this month as rumours over its financial future continue to swirl. Players and staff were remunerated on Friday as the club fulfilled its immediate financial obligations.

Rumours of a takeover continue to circulate - the latest is that two Americans were being shown around the club’s training base at Bodymoor Heath earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, manager Steve Bruce remains in the dark over transfers with the players returning to pre-season training this Wednesday.

I believe we’re not in the healthiest position right now. However I wouldn’t believe the Mirror and their need for hyperbole if it told me Aston Villa was based in Aston, Birmingham.

Someone very underhand trying to further undermine Xia's stewardship in order to force through an aggressive takeover?  Clearly someone is feeding that rag.
