And....breathe. Great shift by the whole team but the longer it stayed 0-0 I was convinced they would get one to take it to extra time. Having said that I can only recall one shot on target for them - Downing hitting the bar late on, and Randolph was far busier than Johnstone again. Wouldn't pick out any one player as MOTM but special mentions for Jedinak, winning pretty much everything that came near him, Hutton for keeping Adama in his back pocket again, and Snodgrass for tracking back to help Bree especially after his nervy start. Even Mike Dean wasn't as bad as I expected him to be (damning with faint praise), although I thought we should have had a penalty, but that decision was balanced by showing Johnstone a yellow instead of a straight red. Terrific noise in the Holte and all round the ground - a noisy Villa Park under floodlights takes some beating.

Well done Villa!! Another clean sheet along with Saturday's. A third clean sheet and hopefully a win at Wembley should see us going up! Chester, Terry, Hutton and Jedi were all good tonight. Hourihane played really well, ran his socks off, tackled well and got into some shooting positions. He showed there is more to his game than just scoring. Well done Connor!

What was that large banner hanging from the Holte? I was expecting it to drop at FT, it never happened.

Yes, I was waiting for it drop. I expected it to say, keep off the pitoh !

How hard is it going to be for me to get tickets for this game?

38k tickets available. If you've been to VP at all this season, you should be good (I think...):

Yeh only been once with Risso. Might have problems if we only have 38k

Cant say i enjoyed that but Job done.

Disappointed with the pitch invasion, I thought we might have shown some class.
I was impressed with the Middlesbrough fans, loads wished us well for the final as we came out of the ground.

If you want one you'll get one. FA cup finals are only 25k and that's been close to general sale the last two occasions we've been.

Boro were awful. Starting Shotton at right back again when they needed to create chances. Bamford on bench.

We were much better second half and should have finished off the tie. Johnstone's brain fart gave them a chance they didn't deserve. Terry and Chester rock solid again. Both wide men worked very hard and Kodjia was much improved.

Johnstone 4, Bree 5, Chester 8, Terry 8, Hutton 7, Snodgrass 7, Jedinak 6, Hourihane 6, Adamoah 7, Grealish 6, Grabban 5. Kodjia 7
Jedinak 6 ????

10 from me. He was immense

Get in!!!
Managed that tie superbly in many respects. Just pleased with the result. Jedinak player of match. SJ reckless but lucky and... One more match and back in the big league!!

Just read that the flag was meant to be unfurled before the game when the fireworks were going off. Apparently they tested it before the game and it flopped and didn't open properly so they didn't try it again.

It will easily make general sale. I don't think we sold out 33k for the FA Semi against Chelsea in 2010.

It did sound a little flat on the tellybox, what happened with the giant flag, I was looking forward to seeing it ?
First half was nervy on and off the pitch. The crowd were shitting ourselves and it meant a quiet and nervous atmosphere.
Second half was much better. Loudest I've heard for years in some spells. The claret and blue army chants towards the end with the whole ground up were deafening.

Also curious as to what happened with the flag? Did they balls it up? Did they scrap it because of the pitch invasion?

Scrapped because of the pitch invasion.

The council blocked us from using the flag.
