After 50 years of going to villa park I totally agree with 'their is only one team who can beat theirselves'.

For once i'm quite confident we have the players that won't bottle it, my slight worry is Bruce and whether he'll focus too much on protecting the 1 goal lead.

Agree with the piece in it’s entirety, also wish I had enough money to rebuild that Trinity Road entrance.

That's my concern. Attack them, and I think we will win the match, and progress fairly comfortably. Sit back and try to defend a one goal lead and we could come unstuck.

I don't think they can offer much more than they did in the first leg.

Oh, and I do hope our stewards tidy up any towels they find laying about the place.

They don't need a huge amount more though, Assombalonga had 2-3 very decent chances in the first half and if Fabio had played a decent square pass at one point in the 2nd half they had a tap in.  It's not a lot but they only need 1 chance like those to level things.  With Bamford having scored plenty in the last 2-3 months I wouldn't want to risk it by trying to play for the clean sheet.

Agree with that last bit, I wouldn't want to play for a 0-0 (which is I presume what you meant) either. A clean sheet of course, but I'd like half a dozen at the other end too....

And if your auntie had ...............................

They had chances and blew them

We had a Snodgrass header just over and then he hit the post after a great save from their keeper so it could have been 3-0 to us as well if.....

I'm not saying that the result could've been different as you're implying, I'm saying that we defended very well but they created chances so to go into the next game trying to defend our way to the final would be very risky.

Drummond, exactly, I just mean I hope we don't plan our game around keeping a clean sheet at the expense of trying to win on the night.
