We could be out until tomorrow and Johnstone wouldn't have made a save.

Ha! Well yeah except from the couple he made. Glad to see he managed to play today, a very commanding performance when he was called upon. Bruce owned Pullis today, got his tactics spot on. Agree with Sam Mouse, Hutton was immense as was the rest of the defence. If you'd have offered me a 1-0 Villa win before kick off I'd have bitten your hand off, so no complaints from me. It may not have been pretty but it was well orchestrated. Job done.

Very good result and sets us up nicely for Tuesday.  The inclusion of Jedinak was a good move because although his distribution was not great at times, he won pretty much everything in the air and got the important goal.  I thought Hutton, Chester and Terry defended well throughout and the Scottish Cafu did a good job on Traore.

Thought the more advanced players except Grealish were not very impressive and we seemed to lose all ambition of getting a second as the game went on.  Adomah helped out well in defence, but Snodgrass looked A bit of a liability at times back there and that would be a bit of a concern for the second leg.

Didn’t really think much of Middlesbrough and thought their main threat came from set pieces and long throws.  Traore still looked a bit clueless at times, but he seemed up for it and got on the ball quite a bit.

I was screaming at the telly to push up the pitch 20 yards and take the game to them.  But, it was a professional performance, if a little too defensive for my liking.  I wouldn't take anything for granted going in to the second leg but what a fantastic opportunity we have given ourselves.  Some really good performances but I can't single anyone out.  I think they all worked hard.  For the second leg, I would bring Bree in at left back.

Played very well as a team, they never looked like scoring, just wished we would have pushed forward a bit more in the second half and put the tie to bed. But very well done all round.

Even though it's a great result and we were fairly comfortable, having to watch us in play offs for the first time ever is horrendously nerve shredding.

Yeah it certainly is, I'm phoning my Doctor on Monday to see if I can double my blood pressure medication!

Good result, very good first half, disappointing second half. Jack and the defence good, Albert, Hotlips, Kodjia were crap.

Grealish was superb at times, commentator was right, difference in class between him and Traore was glaring

if chelsea are signing Adama for £30 million well Jack is £50 million  then
