Strange - I wonder if it was actually profitable for Luke to make the kit - albeit for a single season. Pity as I really liked his versions.

You would have thought that there would be some tie in with Adidas considering our owners involvement - I would imagine it always comes down to who we can make the most money off as it is run by the commercial people rather than fans choices

Thought Luke did a good job.  I know it sold out, but that's a good thing really assuming they produced the required / predicted numbers.

There are plenty of Aways from this season in XL, 2XL and 3XL on KItbag, if you're happy to have a player's name and number on the back. No plain ones left in anything less than 2XL.

I remember the Wakes Kappa kits in the early 2000's and they were OK.  Just had one emblem on each sleeve and on each side of the shorts.  I have seen some monstrosities from them over the years though, with emblem plastered all over them.

One thing I do remember about those Wales shirts though were they were a little "figure hugging".

Looking at the Retro's on Kitbag I see that the 88 home shirt has been reduced from £30 to a massive £29.99.

Hurry while stock lasts :)

I'm at a loss as to why the away is a fiver more.

Announcement

Aston Villa announce Luke 1977 as Formalwear Partner
Aston Villa announce Luke 1977 as Formalwear Partner
Aston Villa is pleased to announce Luke 1977 as the Club’s Formalwear Partner.

The existing partnership will take on a new form for the 2019/20 season with the local Birmingham brand focussing on our new formalwear offering after a season as the club’s technical partner.

Aston Villa Chief Commercial Officer Nicola Ibbetson said: “We are delighted to continue to partner with Luke 1977 within the new capacity as the Club’s Formalwear Partner. The good relationship we have formed with Luke Roper, as a local Birmingham based brand, has enabled us to introduce a new formal offering which has previously not been available to our fans.”

Luke 1977 Creative Director, Luke Roper, said: “The team and I have been thrilled with the fantastic response we have had all season to our record-breaking kit. We are very proud to have seen it become a best seller for the club as well as being voted top kit in the EFL by GQ magazine.

“This, alongside the record-breaking 10 game winning run by the team means it’s going to be iconic in the club’s history.

“During this season we have seen fantastic fan sentiment and we have demonstrated our commitment to our club, which is exactly why the club still wished to have us involved. We are delighted to be the Club’s new Formalwear Partner, and this two-year agreement means that we are very much still aligned to Aston Villa; we will retain our presence at Villa Park, and we look forward to showcasing our new and contemporary formalwear range to fans.

“Thanks for an amazing year, it’s one we will never forget, we have loved every kick of it.”

AVFC and Fanatics worked collaboratively with Luke 1977 on the design element of the club’s 2018/19 kit. The Club will once again focus on delivering a kit that will honour our heritage through design and quality with a new technical partner who will be announced in due course.

Kappa identified as new provider for AVFC on Wiki already  ???

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_(brand)#Football

It just reminds me of lower level Hooligan wear from 80's

Hopefully there will only be 38 ties to choose from next year.
