Get to the final and lose, or win, it doesn’t leave any manager a particularly long transfer window. That said, win the final and you get maximum exposure, rather that than finish second?
Winning the final is the best way to go up - The problem is that the odds are against you as it becomes a bit of a lottery.
I'd like to think that our players are best equipped for it, given their experience but you never can tell with them.
I don't see play offs as a lottery but understand people view as such. This I guess is mainly due to factors such as luck and chance. Not only this but the fact penalties could be used to decide outcome.
It was Reading a pen kick away from being in Prem not Huddersfield last season
However the teams in play off earn right to be there and it depends on organisation and nerve as much as anything else. Consistency and momentum is what brought any team in to the 3rd to 6th places in league .(ahead of finishing lower) There of course is quality players in team that finish in these playoff places. Maybe too some luck or bad luck in injuries and results or fixture runs / changes.
I see play offs as high pressure stakes and the biggest matches of the season.
The tension watching though would be very high and due to expectations this could hinder.
