saying we NEED to win implies that there are immediate, irrevocable negative consequences if we don't. It simply isn't correct to say that.

Would you take a defeat in this one if, say, we won the following 6, including beating Cardiff?

I'd bet good money that such a scenario would have us sitting in 2nd place.
Not sure. Cardiff's very good run has put a lot of pressure on us and other chasers. We need to get something tomorrow.
Mathematically we do not need the win, psychologically we need something from the game, especially if Cardiff beat Blues. An increasing gap starts to play on the nerves. I live and work in Derby and the feeling everywhere is that they have blown it (again), yet actually a good run should ensure play offs or even better for them, but that magic confidence thing seems to have gone, we do not want any of that! I personally think Cardiff will stutter soon with their upcoming fixtures. My eyes will be more on Fulham who seem to be picking up points against everyone, hopefully PNE will at least get a draw, which would slow their charge down. If we can win tomorrow it will really be a boost to hopefully build a strong run of results through to playing Cardiff and Derby.

Is it right they're handing out 10,000 flags on Saturday? Tinpot.
why would they give them 4 flags each?

Villa are..
That's shit. Great for the kids but it makes us sound like we're excited by the visit of a "big club" A bit of an own goal by our lot.

I don't disagree with you, but the club are just listening to the fans and trying to improve match day experience. I've seen plenty of complaints on here about the lack of atmosphere at many of the home games. Can't really fault the club for being willing to spend money on some short-term measures while we wait to see if we get back to the PL next season. Then the club can kick some of the longer-term match day improvement initiatives.

There shouldn't be any need to encourage an atmosphere tomorrow - I'm expecting it to be full on.  In any case, quite how waving a plastic flag creates atmosphere (other than encouraging piss taking songs from the away support) is beyond me.

If we attacked them i feel we could win,but knowing how our manager approaches games against the better teams in this league i fear he will approach the game not to lose and nick it if we can .I will go for 1-1

Previously, I've been pretty indifferent to these upstarts but some of the comments in the local media and message boards have sown the seeds of a deep dislike of this mob. I look forward to them being put in their place by their betters. Fuck the fuckers!

What does it say about them when we can't sell out for their visit - as more of us would rather watch the unwashed from Small Heath.

It will be very funny if it comes out he's a wrong 'un or he just buggers off and takes all his players with him and leaves them in the clag after the tongue bathing they are all giving him.

I wouldn't mind if he hangs around long enough for them to really get their hopes up, and build a shiny new stand 60 yards from the pitch in his honour.

And then buggers off.
