I thought Hourihane had a very good game, he made a lot of tackles, kept moving the ball quickly and got around the pitch.

How Cattermole has carved out a professional football career is quite beyond me. He’d be better use on a building site or delivering pizza.

Glenn Whelan has actually done well the last two games and he'll be upset to pick up what appears to be bad calf injury according to Bruce. That said, I am happier that Jedinak will be the likely replacement for the game vs Wolves. Not that you wish injury on your own players but this one ends up working out for us. Good to have the depth.

Not sure I agree, he’s never going to be quick so I’d like to see him work on his strength, he’s easily knocked off the ball and goes backward too often.

If we manage promotion he’s going to need to improve quickly or be shipped out.

Shipped out? He's going to score double figures in goals this season. He isn't perfect but I wouldn't just toss out any players who have an eye for goal. He'll be a brilliant squad player, and a really excellent attitude.

Probably not the time to discuss after scoring in an easy win but he’s lot a lot of our current players, occasionally looks great at this level but never good enough for the Premier League.

‘Another routine win for Aston Villa’ is a sentence I’ll never tire of reading. Job done. Next.

Sunderland Brexiteers 0 Aston Villa 3. I have no sympathy for them.  They were the poster boys for it.  Their fate is a metaphor for the impending decline of the UK after you know what.

I fully endorse this statement.

I’m gonna say it.
I don’t want to be accused of going overboard or being overly dramatic, but...

Jack is starting to have a look of a young Sid about him.

There, I’ve said it.
I don’t want to be accused of jinxing things... but as long as we look after him he’s hardly likely to be wanting to be catching the next train to Manchester either.

There I’ve said it 😄

Excellent result.  Can’t believe how tight it is at the top.

28 points out of the last 33 and we're still only third!

Fulham, W11 D3 L0 and still outsiders for top 2.

The critical thing for us is that they beat us during that run.

I actually like the fact Bruce talked about winning the league after the game last night - all we can do is keep winning and heap the pressure on elsewhere.

I doubt we've ever played quite so sloppily and won so easily.

Hourihane was poor for me. Consistently giving it away, while the wide men were miles off the pace.

Grealish is a class above. Such a quality player.

Also...waey for closing the A1 and diverting to the M6 and closing that as well. You buggers.

An very important victory before the big game Saturday. Let's hope Leeds can do us a favour tonight.

Not since the last time we played Sunderland.
