It’s around now in games like this I think is this a belter of a pitch or is our bowling substandard?

And not for the first time this season, it was the latter.

Starting with pace really isn't working at the moment, especially with the outfields being so fast.  I would seriously consider opening with Patel and bowl three of his overs in the power play.

I don't know what Poysden has done wrong?? Surely Giles needs to try another spinner? Woakes conceding 54 from his 4 overs? I can't see us qualifying at this rate.

Brookes is more or less out for the season with a stress fracture of the back.

Disappointing news that. Perhaps he was bowled too much early on?

The rock hard pitches caused by the dry weather won’t have helped.

He didn't expect to play as much as he has this season, maybe the odd game. But other injuries to Stone, Woakes and Sidebottom meant he had to. I think he only missed one game before the injury.
Being tall, fast bowler and an 18 year old who is still growing there was always the chance he could breakdown. The hard ground won't have helped as mentioned. He was confident it wasn't a problem and he starts rehab in a few weeks before winter training.
On a side note Bell reckons HB could be a 'superstar'.

As for last night, I agree an extra spinner would help and our bowling seemed to have no plan to it. Looking at our batting we lack a couple of 'bullying' types. Hose looked like a rabbit in headlights for the first 12 balls of his innings and there is big pressure on Belly in every game. Lose the next and we are done I'd say.

Blimey what a knock from Martin Guptill 35 ball ton 2nd fastest in England's domestic T20 and equal 4th fastest in T20 domestic history. Chris Gayle holds the record for his 30 ball effort in the IPL.

Needed that victory after 2 T20 defeats.

Brilliant effort....I think they’ve struggled to keep continuity this year in various forms as the overseas players have been coming and going and interchanging all year

Managed to get home from Edgbaston to find we've actually bowled Leicestershire out for 143.
Now in reply Bears are 23/1 after 3 overs. Pollock managed 7 balls this time before being bowled by Nabi for 10.
Now 33/1 Bell appears to be going well...22 at moment.
Hose in before Hain
33/1 4

Good win, Pollock seems to be trying a bit too hard right now. He needs to realise that he can take a few deliveries to measure the pitch before he starts smashing at everything because teams seem to have worked out ways to get at him this year.
