I was asking from a Pears perspective but if Lancashire win today, which is looking good at the moment, then both Bears and Pears will be through regardless. Notts and Derby play each other on Thursday.

My understanding is that if the Bears lose we won't go through unless Yorkshire lose to Northants

I think the Bears are through regardless. Third place Notts play fourth place Derby on Thursday therefore one of them can’t catch us.

Yorkshire will overtake the loser of Warks-Worcs with a win.

The top four from each group qualify so the Bears and the Pears are already through with the remaining quarter final places split between Yorkshire, Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire. The winner of the Derbys v Notts game goes through, the loser doesn’t. It may come down to net run rate to split the teams depending on the combination of results.

The southern group is much tighter with two points separating five places.

It’s only the top 3 that go through so whoever loses on Thursday is out if both Notts and Yorkshire win - both at home.

The next stage is a quarter final so that’s 8 teams.

Top teams in both groups go straight to the semi finals and then 2nd and 3rd teams from each group play off (2nd from one group plays 3rd from other group) to make up the other 2 semi final spots.

That's correct tomd2103 so tomorrow is effectively a knock out game unless Yorkshire lose

It seems particularly stupid to have number of wins before net run rate when the chances of games being rained off can have a massive effect on former.  Bad weather tomorrow could see us level on points with 3 other teams, with the best net rate of the lot and having only lost 1 game but going out because we'd missed 3 games because of weather (it's unlikely looking at the forecast but even the prospect seems ridiculous).

Whilst I like the Bears, how championships, qualification for competitions, and relegation from leagues in a sport can be so reliant on the weather in this country, means that I just cant quite get into cricket as I'd like to. I mean honestly, weather dependent? FFS

bears v pears play off to win the group is halfway.  Bears got to 292-7 having looks on for about 240-250 for a long time, great knocks by Ambrose and Rhodes to push things along and then a nice little later cameo from Barker.

Not sure what I think about the conditions, I'm the other side of the city but here it's flitting between overcast and bright spells, which are probably slightly better bowling conditions so the target looks very competitive. Ideally (sorry about this Chris) I'd like Yorkshire to lose and both these to go through because i think both sides deserve to.

Bears are favourites after that flurry I'd say. Yorks likely to win too I reckon.
