Lost track of this with the U23s and now the semi-final but Brookes and Ambrose carried the bears to a narrow (9 run) first innings lead and northants are now 139-5 in reply so a lead of 130.  If we can bowl them for 200ish I'd say we're slight favourites.

Good bowling day for Worcs....need a good one with the bat now tomorrow.  4fer Tongue, another that will be on England’s radar over next couple of years

In effect, Essex 82 for 4 going into tomorrow.  If Worcestershire can take a couple of quick early wickets, we are ahead in the game.  I never quite trust us to chase small totals with out fragility in the batting line up though.

Sibley, Bell & Trott all fell cheaply. 59-3 needing another 120 to win.

Thankfully we have an excellent bowling attack because without them we’d struggle if we relied on the batsmen to get us into competitive positions.

really good performance from Rhodes and Lamb to steady things.  Up to 168-4 needing just 11 to win now.  Rhodes on 89 but he might not have the runs to play with to get the century he deserves here.

Oh, and then because that reply took ages to post we've moved on to the victory and Rhodes got his century.

Four day stuff takes a bit if a break now and the Beats go into it top of the table after three straight wins.  Brooke's has had a really good start to the season.

Good win for Essex, didn't think we would win this one.

You are always in the game with Worcs batting....particularly with likes of Siddle in attack....good use of overseas by Essex this year, Siddle then Wagner is very strong, proper cricketers...even if Wagner has already picked off a team mate

Very poor from the Bears today. Can't believe how our bowling attack was hammered all over the park. I don't really rate OHD. Good knock from Hain though. 4 wickets for Trott!

Keaton Jennings played well today. If he keeps this up, he’ll be back in the England team.

If Barker hadn't dropped that chance off last ball Trott would have had a 5fer which would have been his best 50 over performance.
