Johnny Gould is on SquawkSport now. Apparently Lerner was pissed, he insulted them so they immediately resigned!

It doesn't fit in with Bernstein's comments : "Issues are fundamental and do not lend themselves to compromise".

98 pages on here when it was just Randy pissed? Nah, I think there was more to it than that.

Gould is doing a live Q&A with Bernstein tomorrow so he was plugging that. He said that DB had given him some titbits in advance. That was the one he spoke about.

More likely that that was the last straw, I guess.

They were probably the first grown-ups to stand-up to him and tell him no.

I was golfing with a Cleveland Browns supporter in Florida yesterday (oooh, get me!). He said the fans didn’t like Lerner because they rarely saw or heard from him. I said it’s funny you should say that....

I heard that brief snippet on Talksport earlier, although it took me by surprise so I was only casually listening not expecting any nugget of information regarding Villa. The gist I got from what was said (and very little was said to be fair, I'm guessing it was just a teaser for the live gigs) is that they were already unhappy, asked to meet with Lerner and when they did he appeared under the influence. The suggestion being his drunken state was the final straw.
