Matt Kendrick making a mountain out of a molehill with this one...   ::)

I suppose I'm going to be labelled as a prude by some for what I'm about to write...
It's just my opinion, but I find it OTT.
By all means exchange lighthearted banter (horrible word) with rival fans, but why stoop to this level.
Bragging rights should be about celebrating all that is good about your own club, rather than obsessing about doing down the opposition.
To go to the trouble of sourcing a Blues shirt and then laying it out in front of the turnstiles for people to walk all over...
What a waste of time and energy.
Time and energy that would have been better spent soaking up the atmosphere on the Holte, or even supping an extra pre-match pint.
Like I say, it might be me being a boring old prude, but I just didn't find it funny.
Each to his own I suppose.
Stay classy, folks.

They're even trying to claim the Peaky Blinders ffs. Now I'm not a huge fan of PB but it winds me up no end considering it's set in Small Heath ffs

Villa have never, ever, had a presence in (birmingham) city centre. That's a fact. Not open to discussion. It has always been blue and always will be. Even the most biased, deluded DVB will admit that.
They're starting to warm up nicely on SHA....https://www.that lot.com/read.php?1,2426714

Enjoy the deluded babbling.

Oh dear. They’re very bitter.
Awesome!!

You have to laugh

What does “a presence in the city centre” even mean? They’re mental.

Someone should tell Matt Kendrick that a Small Heath shirt is about the only thing you can leave lying around without it getting nicked these days.

Just changing the subject slightly - To me the away support was pretty quiet in volume.
Other clubs fans have made far more noise than they did

I thought the shirt thing was a bit crap. Still, some will think it was bantalicious I suppose.

The absolute irony of them deriding the 'City is ours'  thing by claiming that most Villa live in their town, be it Worcester or Uttoxeter etc.  One even seems to have been to all the pubs in Worcester yesterday to achieve a 90% score of all people watching the game being Blues.

They make life so easy.

Maybe he should concern himself more with the gulf in class and ability between the 2 teams and the fact that they put up little or no fight in a massive local derby.
Surely that is what should concern him?

I tend to go to games wearing only a small pin badge that would identify me as Villa. How anyone would know who I support without good eyesight or questioning me is a mystery.

My mate has posted the 'drank in town and didn't see a Villa fan all day' stuff, he didnt mention how many people he'd asked.

I think one day a few of them might work out that that this 'peoples club' stuff is rather undermined by the published attendances.

Love it.

That might have something to do with;
A) we had 40 thousand people sat a mile outside town in a big tin can actually watching the game
And
B) lots of sensible Villa fans would have avoided town to keep away from any possible trouble that is invariably caused by the 200 ‘small man syndrome’ idiots who can’t cope with a wine gum & inevitable ‘we wuz robbed by der Vile Tom’ defeat
And
C) it was just a standard game for us not a cup final

It’s nice to have a new Coventry - can we play you every week :-)

By city centre, they mean Digbeth and by Digbeth, they mean two or three Irish pubs. Funnily enough I've never seen much Blues drinking around Aston.

Presumably they're referring to when their main lot used to use Sam Wellers in the 80s.

When we palyed them in the cup the other year, you had loads of Villa in the Sun on the Hill, while the peasants were kettled into the Briar next door. Lots of Villa in the Shakespear too.
