Just been on a Shef utd forum and they know more about our players than I do. For example I didn't know Snoddies full name. I do now. Apparantly it's

Robert Bastard Snodgrass

he played for Leeds don't forget so they hated him anyway

Spurs was the game where Ian Ormondroyd scored a screamer I believe?  Wasn't that the night when the away supporters coach passed a car going the wrong way down the M1 or something like that?

So...................

When was the last time we won 5 league games on a row?

Mar/Apr 1998 when Gregory took over from Sir Brian.

BEWARE The last 5 win sequence was sandwiched between home defeats against Barnsley and Bolton (both relegated at season's end)  (I know cos i had to ration my visits to VP and I picked both of the matches to go to )

Who we got Saturday? Burton

Robert Bastard Snodgrass eh? I like it. It sounds, well, Scottish. Perfect.

After a few years in the wilderness we might just have found ourselves a team.

Time to do our bit and back them to the hilt to get over the line.

I was at that Barnsley match when it felt like there were only about twenty people there. That's the coldest I've ever been at Villa Park and I was right in line when Barnsley got their winner. Horrible.

Great win, good performance from the back five, a little disjointed going forward with next to nothing created in open play but it’s a sign of a team on the up to win when playing within themselves.

The run we are on is magnificent and unprecedented in recent times but, when you look at the bench today, we need to bring in another centre forward tomorrow.

You repair the roof when it’s sunny, not when it’s raining.

Was the Snodgrass shot our second attempt on target?

And the first was a deflected effort from Onomah after 70+ minutes, if I wasn't hallucingating again.

We might just be going up.

But then I said we might be on for top 3 after Heskey's goal against Pompey almost 10 years ago.  So bring your own shovels of salt.

To the statisticians out there.... when did we last win six league games in a row? Without looking it up, my guess would be 89/90?

Quite possibly as we won 7 in a row that season, as we did in 80/81.
I was thinking our promotion run in in 74/75 was phenomenal. We won last 8 and 10 out of last 11.

I recall thar run - brilliant. Except for the off day at Orient.
