I just hope we don’t get too cocky going into the games against Burton and Small Heath. I’m sure Bruce will have them right mentally for them though.

He’s fuckin immense, and he clearly loves playing football. He’s the ultimate team player as well.

To the statisticians out there.... when did we last win six league games in a row? Without looking it up, my guess would be 89/90?

Quite possibly as we won 7 in a row that season, as we did in 80/81.
I was thinking our promotion run in in 74/75 was phenomenal. We won last 8 and 10 out of last 11.

I hope we are cocky and demolish them both without mercy.

Arsenal 2-1
Chelsea 3-0
Charlton 2-0
Southampton 2-1
Sheff Wed 1-0
Tottenham 2-0

To think that us beating any one of those teams would have been unremarkable back then. There'd be a TalkSport-led royal commission if half of them happened now.

I bet the Villa coach on the journey home is bouncing. Fantastic goal, well done Bruce and the players and our wonderful away support. One point off second. Looking so much better.

Crazy but back then only Arsenal and Tottenham were really decent sides out of those seven - although Man Utd did go on and win the FA Cup.

Just been on a Shef utd forum and they know more about our players than I do. For example I didn't know Snoddies full name. I do now. Apparantly it's

He's in the same team as John Fucking Terry and Jack Diving Wanker Grealish.
