If Jedinak is fit then he HAS to start in that role. However if he’s not I’d rather give B.B another shot at DM than see whelan in

I don't know, Thor's performance in the second half was more effective than I've seen Jedinak be. He broke up play but also distributed the ball well and added much needed energy.

A well deserved win against a team, who were on a high after their cup win, biggest plus today, BB at last showing the form, he produced for Iceland in the Euros. Also Terry, Jack, Snoddy and Hogan all excellent.

The most pleasing thing for me has been the number of goals, that have come from crosses over the last 5 games, Jedinak v Sheff Utd, Onomah v Brentford, Snodgrass v Boro, Hogan v Bristol and Hogan again yesterday, Terry also hitting the bar. Prior to those games I can't think of a goal, we scored from that source, it's almost as if it suddenly occurred to the coaching staff that was an area of our game that needed work on.

The effect of Agnew might be the reason for our improved pressing, forward play and goals from crosses

The Agnew someone forgot to list as one of the coaches! Someone in admin is getting a bollocking.

Thor's playing for a move - he's been beyond shite  up until the last fortnight.

Or has he come into the side when we needed him and had a decent game? It happens.

His agent was in Italy this week so still not sure he'll stay if we get a decent offer for him.

Lansbury surely surplus to requirements considering he didn't get a run against his former side ?

Pleased to see Villa won despite Forest having a new manager. That kind of thing usually bites us in the arse.

Someone in the press conference yesterday pointed out to Bruce he has faced more new managers than anyone else this season and won the most. Something like 4 in 5?

I was surprised as well but it looks liek Bruce is new manager bounce kryptonite :)

Yes the commentator also mentioned this in his comments after the highlights. I stand corrected!

Although it was only 1-0, the Terry header against the bar and the Adomah offside goal, it could just as easily have been 3-0. It's the small margins in a game that can make a difference.

Fine, if he puts a couple more appearances like that and we get what we paid for him or more back then we benefit twice!

If he is staying and he keeps that level up for the rest of his Villa career then equally great.

Either way I am happy his form has improved.

I love Snoddy his interview was really great at the end.  Gave massive support to Hogan for all his hard work.

I agree, it sounded like he felt something he liked playing for us. He played it nicely against Forest, using his experience to constantly win us free kicks in dangerous areas. You get the feeling hes a good motivator and like's to encourage players around him.

Depends what division we are in I suppose.  If we go up, then his leadership would be really important.  If we don't go up and have to tighten our belt financially then we may not be able to keep him.

Footballing wise, a real class act who didn't put a foot wrong yesterday.

Just been reading a Forest forum and they fucking hate Jack Grealish. It makes me happy that we have players other teams dislike because they're really good at football.

Thoroughly professional performance. We bought a lot of cheap free kicks, managed the game well at the end and chased together when needed as a team.

Big plus points, Bjarnasson looking much more mobile than the others as a DM. Hogan, brilliant hungry run to get on the end of the cross. Terry, the boss.

The next 4 games, we cannot rest on our laurels. 3 of the bottom 6 at home, go for the kill, win them all. 9/10 pts from the next 4 will cement us in the top 6 and we can focus on chasing Derby down. Get within 2 points of them and we have them near the end of the season, could be the decider.
