Reading this thread has evoked memories of a long lost youth which has inevitably brought a tear to my eye. Sad news indeed. RIP Alan.

I was sad to hear of the death of Alan He was a regular in the team when i first started to watch the Villa Along with Mike Tindall and Tulip or Slogger as some called him,he was part of a impressive half backline which was ruined by injury R I P Alan

Alan Deakins funeral is on Monday 15th Jan, Streetly crematorium 9.45am.
