Complete agree with Hookeysmiths comments on Hourihane.
It is so frustrating to see him constantly playing with his back to goal and knocking short simple balls when he is so dynamic and influential when going forward and facing up to the opposition.
I’m not knocking him, I guess he is playing to instructions but I hope he is not being stifled.

Until his goal I thought even though he worked hard he was our least effective performer. I do like him though and would like him more if he got hold of a game and dictated.  He has it in him but I think he's one where the pressure of playing for a big club affects his game.  If it is the case where he is being asked to play in a style that stifiles his ability then it's a complete waste.

And how poor was baker yesterday lucky to stay on the pitch. So much for no insight in getting rid

He had a poor game no doubt, but he's still a key part of a team that are in the play off positions, and above us.

He wont be a key part of the team when he eventually gets injured.

I've just seen that Lee Johnson showed his class after the game when he whined: "It was interesting to hear the Villa fans mocking us...".

I take it he failed to hear the 'Library' chant & 'shhhhhhhh' business the Brizzle support came out with early doors? What a precious little soul.  ::)

Made me laugh when they were slagging off Hogan for being a waste of money and always offside, just before he scored.

'Just been having a browse on a Brizzle forum - and somebody's taken it upon themself to start a thread about our support. It appears that a few folk are a tad bitter about getting gubbed 5-0 on their big day out...

I saw this beauty over there. Brilliant.

Quote
There are two Villa fans in my workplace and it says a lot that despite the 5-0 scoreline, I felt like I was the one with bragging rights over them this morning. 5-0 was a totally undeserved scoreline on their part and I hope their fans realise that it doesn't make them anything special or deserving of any credit... they simply caught us at the right time. We had bigger fish to fry beforehand (United, Wolves) and have bigger fish to come (Man City x2 and second placed Derby). My colleagues didn't really have any reply to that and walked away meekly!

Don't you just love it when little clubs get four shiny new stands and suddenly think they're in the Nou Camp. And not  one hint of racism in that thread at all. Oh no.

To be honest I'm with them on the 'empty seats' and 'shit support my lord' comment.  Other than the first verse it's the most excruciating song ever.

Did they want a standing ovation from us because they're doing well and beat Man Utd? They got hammered, well and truly, one of those hammerings that have been promised for 18 months. Outplayed for 70 minutes, no excuses, injuries, tiredness, we have our own, we've just played away twice in a few days. They thought they were going to come here and put a nail in our coffin, full of confidence and the glow of underdogs sticking it to everyone. Probably pumped up for the first 15 minutes, then we bit back.

We've all the top teams to play, everyone around us, they've got to come to Villa Park, notice is served, there's dickings to be handed out.

Hopefully....

They came thinking that they were going to turn us over and it bit them in the arse so they are having a hissy fit. Bloody diddums.
