Takes me back to 1988 when we beat Hull City on New Years Day 5-0

We got promoted that year as well.

I was thinking exactly the same myself. Only disappointing aspect of the day was not finding out the Bartons was shut until I got there.

An euphoria enducing assault on the remainder of the season leading to automatic promotion and a return to the riches of the PL. Sorted.

Up the bloody villa!!!! What a performance today, every player worked there socks off and played brilliantly. Can't remember the last time we played so well. With the players coming back and some better fixtures to come things are certainly looking better. Bring on the rest of the season!!!!

Jack was absolutely magnificent today.

He didn’t run today. He glided. He makes it look very easy when he gets going. And he is so comfortable on the ball. We need to get promoted because if he plays like that he’ll be a highly sought after player in the summer by the likes of Man City where that ability is cherished.

Bjarnason's finish was nice.
Hogan's header reminded me of Dean Saunders' header at Sheffield Wednesday in 1995. One of the best headed goals I've ever seen.

Hogan's goal was a fantastic header and Thor showed he can add value.

Brilliant, probably the best performance since the semi final and Jack today played like he did in that match, class. Of all the players we have bought in this season, I reckon, apart from Whelan,  Snodgrass has been the most disappointing, but today he was superb. Terry back soon all good news.

Like a former great England striker once said, it's a funny old game.

Hogan's goal was a fantastic header and Thor showed he can add value.

He’s an inside left midfielder and has an uncanny knack of getting into good positions. He’s certainly not a winger. I was happy for him today because he doesn’t have a lot of fans. Much down to him but certainly in part positional circumstance.

The truth is when we play like that every player grows an inch and Barney is no different.

His header that the keeper saved for the second goal was good as well.  I thought he attacked the near post well all game.

Better than reading, Norwich, Preston. And still have the kodj, terry and green to come back into contention. For once everything bar the ref who was poor went our way

The ref did allow the game to go on even though Jack Grealish was being pulled back for thirty of the sixty yards he ran with the ball in the build up for the third goal.
